About Roia

Roia is principal and founder of Wellspring Advisers. She has broad experience representing US and cross border early stage technology companies on a variety of legal matters, including formation, corporate governance, equity and debt financing, IP licensing, commercial transactions and trademark prosecution. Roia also has an extensive background advising public and private companies on domestic and cross border M&A deals, reverse mergers, SEC reporting and compliance and initial and secondary public offerings. Roia currently serves as Task Force member to the Silicon Valley based Women’s Startup Lab and is leading an initiative to form the first tech accelerator in Kabul, Afghanistan. Roia was previously founding partner at De Franseschi & Shefayee, LLP (n/k/a De Franceschi & Boroy, LLP). Prior to that she practiced corporate and securities law at Baker & McKenzie LLP and intellectual property law at White & Case LLP. Roia holds a Law degree from Santa Clara University, a M.A. in International Economics & Development from Johns Hopkins University-SAIS, and a B.A in Political Economy from U.C. Berkeley.
