About Ronald

Ronald M. Bookholder is past-chairperson of the State Bar of Michigan Family Law Section, a group that includes over 3,000 Michigan attorneys who practice family law. He is a member of the National Board of Governors and a Certified Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), an association limited to the most skilled and experienced family law attorneys. Mr. Bookholder is also the current Vice President of the MIPA (Michigan Inter-Professional Association, an organization of the mental health professionals and lawyers).

Mr. Bookholder is widely regarded as an expert in family law. He is the author of several books and articles on family law topics for both attorneys and for the general public, and he is a frequent lecturer to other attorneys on family law matters.

Ronald M. Bookholder co-authored the Michigan Domestic Relations Arbitration Act, and has testified on family law issues before the state legislature and the Michigan Supreme Court. He is also very active in alternate dispute resolution, including mediation, arbitration, and collaborative law. He is a certified arbitrator and mediator, and is the current Chair of the Michigan Bar Family Law Section ADR (Alternate Dispute Resolution) Committee.
