Senior Judge Ronald L. Walker was born in Beaumont, Texas October 20, 1936; admitted to the Bar, 1968, Texas private practice of law 1968-82; elected Judge of the 58th District Court in and for Jefferson County, Texas, serving from 1983 until September, 1989, when Gov. William Clements, Jr. appointed Judge Walker, Chief Justice, Ninth Court of Appeals, serving from 1989 until retirement on December 31, 2002. Judge Walker's tenure as a trial judge focused solely upon civil litigation. As Chief Justice, Judge Walker authored over 1500 legal opinions and participated in 5000 legal opinions. Judge Walker is presently of counsel with the Ferguson Firm and is engaged in Mediation Practice and Senior Judge status. Judge Walker holds a J.D. Degree from the University of Houston Law School. Judge Walker is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Jefferson County Bar Association.
