Questions & Answers

How did you build a successful practice?

"A watching pot never boils." Which is why a successful practice doesn't just happen overnight. I've begun from the bottom of the latter & with each & every step during the climb up, came great discipline & understanding of the path that would make my practice successful.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Criminal Defense is a sensitive area. A client should truly believe & trust that their attorney is prepared to go above & beyond with their case. An open line of communication is always key as well between client & attorney relationship because it allows both parties to brain storm & be on the same page to move forward with the case correctly.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Local knowledge is a necessity especially because I think that one attorney can never know enough. After all we are humans & it's crucial to always refresh our minds & expand our knowledge by learning about new topics whether we think we can apply it in our field of law or not.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

The information I can provide during a free telephone consultation is fairly limited. I like to keep others privacy guarded & respected which is why I always notify clients to come in for a sit down so that all information is privately discussed. The most I like to disclose over the phone is mainly general information such as the consequences of their case, its exposure, & etc.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

Court information, the charges, criminal history, immigration status, & general facts.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

Out of all the questions, I find this the most difficult to answer. Not because we are all the same but quite the contrary; we are all different in several ways. I can't describe why I am a certain way & other lawyers aren't. There are always those that have a better track record, more experience, have a distinctive focus in law, most affordable, and etc. I can only speak for myself & share with you my track record, describe to you why I chose Criminal Defense, & inform you with the number of years I have been practicing law, along with my fees for services. I guess what I'm trying to say is, what differentiates me is that, there is only one of me. I am Criminal Defense Attorney Ruzanna Poghosyan. I am not a clone, not a duplicate, not a twin, not a fake, I am me.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

As a criminal defense attorney, my answer should be to win a case. However as I answer this question I can't help but think about that proud feeling that arises from within as I am protecting a client of their constitutional rights. That is one of the very many rewarding aspects of my job. The 2nd most rewarding for me personally is when prior clients send me referrals. For me that truly symbolizes that my work was highly appreciated & they are not only sending me business, but are trusting me with their cases.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

For me, home is where the heart is, which is why my clients are not just a folder that sits in a alpha-numeric filing cabinet. I am a very traditionally oriented person that just likes to take a deep breathe & seize the moment. ""Carpe Diem!"" Life passes with a blink of an eye so it is very important for me to appreciate the little things that to some has no significance.

Are you involved in your community?

I like to support all the local small businesses in my community. From pizza parlors, to ice cream shops, & even finding a rarity in my favorite small book store. I am also fascinated with adventuring while hiking & running in to cool landmarks.
