About Ryan
Mr. Udell is a partner in the Business Department. He concentrates his practice on general business matters, mergers and acquisitions and divestitures, and intellectual property transactions. Mr. Udell regularly advises business clients ranging from emerging growth firms to established Fortune 100 companies in wide variety of matters, including entity selection and formation, and structural, governance, intellectual property protection and licensing and other operational matters.
Mr. Udell's recent transactions include representation of a multi-national pharmaceutical manufacturing and development company in the sale of its European distribution business to a European-based pharmaceutical marketing firm; a privately held technology company in a $30 million equity investment; the sale of a pharmaceutical services provider to a strategic buyer; and a joint venture between a large privately held distributor of consumer electronics and appliances and a fulfillment services provider.
Mr. Udell recently served as a panelist at a breakfast seminar presented by KYW Newsradio and White and Williams. The event called, "Your Brand's Bottom Line: What Every Business Owner Needs to Know about Intellectual Property," included topics ranging from "next steps" for infringement to fraud and irreparable harm.
Mr. Udell received his B.A. in History and International Studies from Emory University in 1993 and his J.D., magna cum laude, from Temple University School of Law in 1996. Prior to joining White and Williams, he was a law clerk to the Honorable Vincent A. Cirillo of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania. Mr. Udell is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. In 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008, Mr. Udell was named in a survey of his peers as a Pennsylvania "Rising Star" attorney by Law & Politics magazine.
