About Sam
Samuel P. Pierce, Jr. was born in Anniston, Alabama on January 19, 1948. Mr. Pierce graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Arts in 1970 and received his law degree from the University of Georgia in 1973. He was admitted to the bar in June of 1973.
Mr. Pierce practiced with two large Atlanta insurance defense firms in which he was a partner from 1973 to 1991. During that time, he primarily defended manufacturers of products, doctors and hospitals, general liability cases, and business disputes. As a defense attorney, he tried over 120 cases and had multiple cases decided by the Georgia appellate courts and United States Circuit Courts.
In 1991, Mr. Pierce decided to devote his experience and energies to assisting individuals hurt by doctors, products, automobiles, nursing homes negligence, and other tortious acts. He has also continued his extensive business dispute litigation focusing upon the representation of small businesses. Since 1991, Mr. Pierce has tried over 100 additional cases and handled to successful resolution thousands of other cases. He has obtained numerous million dollar judgments and settlements in both the personal injury and business dispute areas of his practice.
He is active in his profession and in the community. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the American Bar Association, the North Fulton Bar Association, The Old War Horse Club and the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Bar Association and the Young Lawyers of Atlanta. He is active in Peachtree Presbyterian Church, his homeowner's association (serving as President on two different occasions), Mt Vernon Presbyterian School and many charitable and civic organizations. He lives in Cobb County with his wife and youngest child. He has two older children who have graced him with four grandchildren. Mr. Pierce is an avid tennis player, photographer and rose grower.
