About Samuel

Samuel Johnson is a member of the firm’s litigation department. Samuel became member of Georgia Bar in 2010 and was in private practice until he joined Slepian, Schwartz & Landgaard in 2017.

Samuel has focused most of his practice in fields of civil law, criminal law, immigration law, and bankruptcy law.

Samuel was born in Persia and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. He attended Life University (Marietta, Georgia), where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Management. He was an Honor Student while attending Life University and graduated as a valedictorian. He also served the students’ interest as President of Student Government. While attending Life University, he was invited to serve on the marketing board of the institution.

Samuel obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, located in Lansing, Michigan. During his educational career at Thomas M. Cooley Law school, Samuel was awarded certificate of merit in several subjects, which included Criminal Procedure, Comparative Torts Law, and Sales & Negotiable Instruments (Commercial Papers). He was a quarter finalist in the First-Year Melissa Mitchell Criminal Procedure Moot Court Competition. He also competed in Intra-School Mock Trial Competition. He served on the Alternate Dispute Resolution Board as an Executive Board Member and Competition Chair; Student Bar Association as a Class Senator, Budget and Finance Committee, and Academics Committee; Student member and competition judge for Moot Court Board; and Senior member for Mock Trial Board. Samuel was also nominated as Lieutenant Governor for the Sixth District of Law Student Division for the American Bar Association. Other achievements included Shane Joseph Johnson Scholarship, Dean’s list, Honor Roll, and Honor Scholarship. He was selected to attend study abroad program in Australia and New Zealand.

Samuel has served his community as a former Detective, former Police Officer, and Deputy Sheriff. He has served several organizations as Chief Executive Officer, Vice President, and Executive Board member. Samuel is currently serving his community as a Free and Accepted Mason and a Deputy Sheriff with Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.

Samuel worked, as an attorney, for Washtenaw County Public Defender. While at the Washtenaw County Public Defender’s Office, he was assigned to Felony Trial division, where he represented clients charged with a wide range of aggravated felonies. Samuel has also been involved with prosecution of individuals who had committed a wide range of crimes including misdemeanors and felonies.
