About Sarah

Sarah Beard joined Siegel & LeWitter in 2005 and has been practicing solely in the area of employment litigation and advice ever since.  Ms. Beard has represented plaintiffs in a variety of discrimination and wrongful termination cases, including sex, race, national origin, disability and age discrimination, as well as in wage & hour and public policy cases.  While in law school, Ms. Beard was lead student counsel on a team that successfully represented the plaintiff in Murphy v. Kenneth Cole Productions, Inc., an appeal of a decision of the California Labor Commissioner, tried in San Francisco Superior Court.  Ms. Beard currently works as a volunteer attorney for the Legal Aid Society-Employment Law Center's Workers Rights Clinic, and serves as the Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the General Assistance Advocacy Project (GAAP) in San Francisco, a nonprofit that provides direct legal services to homeless and marginally-housed San Franciscans.  She also co-writes a column on state wage & hour law for the California Labor & Employment Law Review, a publication of the California State Bar.
