About Scot

Scot Warner brings strong personal integrity and a blue collar work ethic to a white collar profession.  He believes the practice of law is, above all, a service-based profession.  Service to the client, through knowledgeable, informed legal advice is the essence of the practice of law for Scot.  To this end, his client relation skills are exceptional.  He learned early in his career that clients who have been injured need representation that is compassionate, responsive, and personalized to their specific situation and needs.  Scot takes his clients' calls, promptly returns calls and emails, and takes the time to provide detailed explanations and answers about any aspect of the case.  Unfortunately, this level of service seems to have disappeared over the past decades and lawyers are now, somewhat justifiably, seen as aloof, disrespectful, and self-centered.  Clients deserve more, and Faddis & Warner is committed to providing more to the clients we are fortunate enough to represent.  If you entrust your case to us, we will provide the absolute highest level of service and representation.

Scot Warner handles a diverse case load of significant cases involving serious injury, including medical malpractice, nursing home abuse and neglect, automobile accidents, construction site accidents, trucking accidents, and other cases in which a person has been seriously injured or killed as a result of the negligence of others.  Regardless of where he practiced, Scot has always been committed to providing the highest quality representation to his clients, and throughout his career this commitment has resulted in the resolution of many cases in excess of $1,000,000.00.

Scot began his legal career at a large commercial litigation firm in Tallahassee where he practiced an interesting mix of insurance defense and plaintiff's personal injury law.  This experience was deeply influential for Scot, because it exposed him to the power of helping people who are truly in need and who are too often at the mercy of large, callous corporations seeking to profit through their wrongdoing.  This experience also provided an interesting perspective on the contrast between defending wrongdoers and prosecuting them for their wrongs--between seeking accountability and making excuses.  Clearly, holding wrongdoers responsible is more satisfying than making excuses for their negligence.

When his wife and law partner Debbie accepted a job in Orlando with a prestigious insurance defense firm, Scot transitioned to a mid-sized insurance defense firm where his practice consisted of defending hospitals, nurses, and physicians in medical malpractice cases, as well as defending many of Florida's notoriously bad nursing homes in abuse and neglect cases filed across the state.   While this experience was much less satisfying than his prior work, it is, in large part, responsible for his path to his current position.  While defending people and entities that clearly deserved to be punished for their often outrageously poor treatment of our cherished elders, Scot resolved to stop defending the wrongdoers and dedicated his legal career to helping people in need obtain the justice they deserve.

Utilizing his detailed knowledge of the law and medicine, Scot was able to engineer a much-needed departure from the world of insurance defense and was fortunate to join the well respected Orlando firm of Maher, Guiley and Maher.  This position offered Scot many opportunities.  The firm's senior partner, Michael Maher, was the team leader of the People's Trial Advocates appointed by the State of Florida to sue the major cigarette manufacturers and whose efforts recovered more than $25 billion for the State of Florida from the tobacco industry.  In his more than seven year tenure at Maher Guiley, Scot was responsible for handling a large caseload of significant cases, including many nursing home abuse and neglect cases in both Florida and California.  A very large percentage of those cases resulted in settlements approaching or exceeding one million dollars.  In fact, the risks to the defendants created by Scot's meticulous and intense litigation resulted in such significant risk to the defendants in numerous cases that the defendants settled for several million dollars rather than risk trying the case to a jury.  For several years, Scot managed and led the firm's Florida-based nursing home practice while litigating other catastrophic non-nursing home cases and continuing to litigate large California nursing home cases.  After gaining significant litigation and managerial experience, Scot had moved as high as was possible in the hierarchy at Maher Guiley, so he left the firm and joined Eric Faddis and Debbie Warner at Faddis & Warner, where he realized his long-held professional goal of practicing with his wife.

At Faddis & Warner we value family, which helps us provide the best representation to our clients.  We pride ourselves not only on being exceptional lawyers, but also on being good people.  We are caring and compassionate.  We are capable and successful.  While many people believe they need a cold-hearted, super-aggressive pit bull or shark for a lawyer, few understand that those qualities usually affect the lawyer's client relations.  Being cold, callous, and unnecessarily aggressive is not our philosophy at Faddis & Warner.  We prefer the benefits associated with being hard-working, well-prepared, and fair.  These attributes result in far better results than the approach of the stereotypical personal injury lawyer.  Put simply, we care about people.  This compassion helps us maximize your recovery, because we are able to relate to you and your loss, which helps us effectively convey the depth and seriousness of your loss to the defense.

At Faddis & Warner, Scot, Debbie, and Eric share a common goal of practicing with the highest professional standards in order to provide exceptional representation to people in need.  We are proud of the quality of our work and of the results we obtain for our clients.  If you are considering hiring an attorney, please call and let us show you why we are the best choice.
