About Sean
Sean M. Jones focuses his practice on criminal defense and professional license protection.
Prior to starting his own firm, Mr. Jones worked as an associate trial attorney with renowned San Diego defense attorney, David Baker, handling some of Southern California’s most serious and high profile federal cases.
While in law school, Sean maintained dual clerkships at Webb & Bordson, APC, a civil litigation firm, and the Law Offices of Michael A. Hernandez, a criminal defense practice. After taking both the California and Nevada Bar exams, which he passed on his first attempt, Sean went to work litigating multi-state class actions as a Post-Bar Law Clerk at Wagner, Jones, Kopfman & Artenian. During college, he interned with the Public Defender’s Office while earning his Criminology degree.
Having litigated hundreds of cases in both State and Federal court during his early years of practice and establishing a reputation in the San Diego legal community as a formidable trial advocate, Mr. Jones separated from his previous firm in 2015 to begin his own practice, focusing on helping clients resolve their legal issues with as little effect as possible on their careers, finances, and families while also avoiding potentially devastating civil and immigration ramifications.
Since starting his practice, Sean has helped clients across Southern California keep their jobs, retain custody of their children, avoid deportation, and prevent unnecessary and excessive punishment. As a result of his dedication to protecting his clients’ interests and providing principled and honest advice, Mr. Jones has been rewarded with consistent praise and recommendation from his current and former clients.
As part of his commitment to giving back to the San Diego community, Sean serves as a Director on the California Western School of Law Alumni Board as well as on the Board of Trustees for the Spreckels Organ Society at Balboa Park. He also regularly volunteers with Hi-Caliber Horse Rescue in North County San Diego, and in 2014 was given the honorary title of CEO of the Cowboy Lawyers Association.
When not in the courtroom, Sean can most likely be found surfing at the Ocean Beach jetty.
