Heber Simmons III, the founder of Simmons Dallas, PLLC, is a lawyer who always remembers whom he represents, and keeps their interests at heart from start to finish. He enjoys time with his family, as well as hunting, fishing, archery, tennis, golf, scuba diving and being an amateur carpenter. Jamie L. Cox is a partner at Willson & Pechacek, PLC, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Mr. Cox’s general litigation practice focuses on personal injury law, employment law, estate and trust litigation, business law, and civil rights law. He represents clients in Iowa and Nebraska. A native of Wapello, Iowa, Mr. Cox graduated with honors and distinction from the University of Iowa, where he earned bachelor’s degrees in history and sociology in 1998. He later obtained his law degree from The University of Iowa College of Law in 2001. Licensed to practice in the state courts of Iowa and Nebraska, Mr. Cox is also admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa, the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska, the U.S. Tax Court, the Iowa Supreme Court, the Nebraska Supreme Court and the Supreme Court of the United States. In addition to his professional commitments, Mr. Cox enjoys participating in his local community. After graduating from the University of Virginia Law School in 1975, Mr. Cocke moved to Clarksdale, MS to begin practicing in a general litigation firm. In 1982, Mr. Cocke and Mr. Merkel left that firm and established Merkel & Cocke, P.A., and since that time the emphasis of Mr. Cocke's practice has progressed more and more toward medical malpractice. At the present time his practice is exclusively devoted to handling medical negligence cases for the plaintiff, either as a result of direct contact by the client or as, more commonly occurs, on referral from other attorneys who are not familiar with the handling of medical negligence cases. Mark Peake has been practicing law in the areas of personal injury, insurance defense, civil litigation, products liability, and criminal defense since 1988. He has extensive trial experience in Virginia’s state and federal courts, and he has successfully appealed a number of cases to the Supreme Court of Virginia. He is a former President of the Lynchburg Bar Association.
