The media labeled the marijuana licensing litigation “World War Weed”, as it involved many high-profile companies and law firms. The trial resulted in a verdict in favor of Joseph’s client Thrive Cannabis Marketplace, as well as the State of Nevada Department of Taxation and other marijuana dispensary companies. While in law school, Joseph worked for the United States Circuit Judge Arthur L. Alarcon of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Following graduation and admission to the State Bar of Nevada, he began his law career at a small Las Vegas litigation firm. Before founding Maier Gutierrez & Associates, Joseph served as a litigator with one of Nevada’s oldest incorporated law firms, Beckley Singleton, and then at the international law firm, Greenberg Traurig. After several years working for large law firms, Joseph and his law partner Jason Maier established Maier Gutierrez & Associates, with the goal of providing clients the highest level of personal service combined with big firm legal experience. In his personal time, he enjoys playing golf and basketball and supports the Los Angeles Rams and Vegas Golden Knights.

Gregory H. Herrman has been committed to providing quality legal representation for injured accident victims in the Corpus Christi area and the Rio Grande Valley for many years. Brian Custy is no stranger to hard work, securing his first paying job in rural Colorado after 2nd grade working in grain elevators and maintaining physical jobs through college including drilling water wells, maintaining government wildlife property, and fencing acreage throughout the Rocky Mountains. Anthony P. Sgro is a partner and founding member of Sgro & Roger, LLC. After attending the University of San Diego for both his undergraduate education and law school, Mr. Sgro returned to Las Vegas and began practicing primarily in the area of criminal defense. In short order, he became a “death qualified” attorney and focused on defending those charged with capital murder offenses. ​ After trying numerous cases, Mr. Sgro used his unique trial experience to branch out into other areas of law, including personal injury, entertainment, and business law. Originally from Bedford County, Matthew joined the law firm in 2018 as a full-time associate, following his graduation from the Liberty University School of Law. Matthew has a significant amount of experience as a trusted Personal Injury attorney. Prior to law school, Matthew worked as a defense litigation paralegal from 2011-2015, specializing in Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice.
