Through my tax practice, I learned that many tax debts can be discharged through Chapter 7 bankruptcy or paid through Chapter 13. I began practicing bankruptcy law in 2009. My firm has discharged literally millions of dollars of IRS debt for my clients. I am admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court, the United States District Court, and the Washington State Superior Court. I am a member of the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association and the Washington State Bar Association. I am married and blessed with my wonderful wife and children. When I'm not doing things with my family in my spare time, I enjoy ballroom dancing and the game of golf.

Nicole Carnero is an associate attorney committed to providing clients with competent and knowledgeable legal counsel. Nicole graduated from the Western Michigan University Cooley College of Law in 2022 on an academic scholarship. While in law school, Nicole received numerous academic accolades and graduated magna cum laude near the top of her class. Nicole also externed for the Honorable Catherine Peek McEwen at the United States Middle District Bankruptcy Court, volunteered as a student representative in her school’s Debt Relief Clinic, and served as the preemption and screening editor for the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review. During these years, Nicole’s interest in bankruptcy law quickly became a passion for helping others overcome debilitating financial hardships. Nicole comes to our firm with experience as a creditors’ rights attorney and consumer bankruptcy case manager. She is fluent in English and Spanish and licensed to practice in all three United States District and Bankruptcy Courts within the State of Florida: Northern, Middle, and Southern. In her spare time, Nicole enjoys spending quality time with her husband, family, and friends.

At a recent hearing, the Chapter 13 Trustee was planning to dismiss my client’s case. I was able to show proof that my client had been facing employment challenges, but was now employed, and in a good position to satisfy her monthly mortgage payments. This showing of new employment was sufficient; my client’s case was not dismissed. As such, she was able to continue living in her home. While walking my client out of the hearing, instead of shaking my hand, she gave me a big hug, and said, “God is good, thank you!” Re: made a difference How did you build a successful practice? A native of Greenville, South Carolina, Mr. Haskins graduated from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science and interned with the South Carolina House of Representatives, the South Carolina Senate, and worked as a Special Assistant in the Public Affairs Division for the South Carolina Office of the Attorney General. Mr. Haskins then attended Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, where he obtained his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree. At Florida Coastal, he was Parliamentarian of the Student Bar Association Legislature and Chief Justice of the Honor Court. Having graduated Florida Coastal in two and one-half years, Mr. Haskins passed the Alaska Bar Examination and became a Member of the Alaska Bar Association. After Florida Coastal, he attended American University Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C., where he obtained his Master of Law (LL.M.) degree in Law & Government, specializing in Law, Politics, and Legislation, with a concentration on Civil & Constitutional Rights. While at American, he interned in the United States Senate and was a Legal Fellow for United States Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC). Mr. Haskins also helped found the Alaska Bar Association Federal Regulatory Practice Section in Washington, D.C.
