L. LABAN LEVY is a partner with the law firm of Simon, Fitzgerald, Cooke, Reed & Welch. Mr. Levy graduated from Northwestern State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1998 and received his Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Civil Law degree from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University Law School in 2002. Mr. Levy's practice is primarily in the area of Consumer Bankruptcy. Mr. Levy was admitted to practice in Louisiana in 2003. He served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Chief Judge Henry N. Brown, Jr. for the Louisiana Second Circuit Court of Appeals from 2003 through 2004. He is a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.

I am a graduate of the University of California, Riverside where I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. In 1985 I received my Juris Doctor Degree, Cum Laude, from Western State University. Prior to becoming an attorney, I served as an intern in the United States Senate and was employed for seven years by California Federal Savings & Loan Association, where I worked as Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager of Cal Fed offices in San Bernardino and Pasadena. I have a deep and extensive trial and litigation background. I served as a Deputy District Attorney in Orange County for over two years before joining the firm of McKinley & Capeloto in Pasadena in 1988, where I was a partner from 1994 until 2001. In 2002, I joined Weintraub Law Corporation as Senior Counsel. The firm became known as Weintraub Zolkin Talerico & Liu LLP in 2023. I am proud to say that I am recognized as one of the leading consumer and small business bankruptcy attorneys in California and am a State Bar Certified Legal Specialist in bankruptcy law. Julia has over 20 years of experience representing diverse business industries and individuals as debtors in reorganizations, bankruptcy, and debt restructuring. She has been lead and co-counsel in Chapter 11 bankruptcies on behalf of real estate developers, hospitality companies, commercial landlords, manufacturers, fabricators, logistic companies and high net-worth individuals. She also has significant experience representing lenders and creditors in bankruptcy court and state court, including stay modification litigation, adversary actions, priority lien disputes and commercial collection and foreclosure, as well as contractors and homeowners in construction and mechanic’s lien litigation. Julia has in-depth experience drafting contracts, leases, business sales transactions and settlement agreements with an eye toward anticipating potential litigation and protecting her clients. Additionally, she represents condominium and homeowners’ associations in litigation, collection, negotiations with vendors and disputes with utilities and municipalities.
