Marc L. Shea graduated from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, in 1979. He was formerly associated with Law Offices of Lester G. Sachs, where he practiced general civil law, with an emphasis in mechanics lien law (1979-1982) and then as a partner with Popelka, Allard, McCowan & Jones (“PAMJ”) and Popelka, Allard, McCowan & Bondonno (“PAMB”) (1982 to 2006). Shea & McIntyre is the successor firm to PAMB.

Rita concentrates her practice in intellectual property including patent, trademark, copyright, unfair competition, and trade secret counseling, prosecution, licensing and litigation. Ms. Chipperson’s patent practice includes business method, electrical, mechanical, Internet, and software patents. An entrepreneur, Ms. Chipperson founded and was president of ProActive Systems, Inc., an energy and construction consulting firm based in New Jersey that provided domestic and international contract negotiations, energy analysis and automation system design.Prior to starting her own practice, Ms. Chipperson practiced intellectual property law with Ward & Olivo (in both NY and NJ). Ms. Chipperson also served as Of Counsel to Flaster Greenberg. Ms. Chipperson is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association; the John J. A Louisiana native, Stephen Babcock has developed a reputation for taking on high-profile cases involving catastrophic personal injury matters and business disputes. Born and raised outside of Ruston, La., Stephen attended Louisiana Tech University, where he received a B.S. in marketing in 1997. Already a licensed real estate agent at the time, his intention was to go to law school and become a title attorney. He also made the national news in early 2008 when LSU played Ohio State for the BCS National Football Championship game. Babcock — an ardent LSU football fan — was successful in convincing a state judge to delay a trial that was scheduled to occur at the same time as the game (which LSU won, 38-24). Jacqueline Ferris MacLaren serves Columbus and the central Ohio residents with estate planning, estate and probate administration, wills and trusts, equine law, small business law, and real estate property law. Jacqueline began her legal career at the Franklin County Municipal Court as a law clerk. At the Franklin County Municipal Court, Jacqueline worked closely with the magistrates and judges while researching and drafting opinions on legal issues before the court. Jacqueline enjoys working with families and educating individuals on the estate planning process. Jacqueline’s personal time is spent with her family and horses. Jacqueline was born and raised with Arabian horses and continues to actively participate on the local, regional and national levels with the Arabian Horse Association and the National Show Horse Registry. Jacqueline’s career highlight to-date came in 2009, when she and her Half-Arabian gelding, Great Days of Honor, went U.S. Arabian and Half-Arabian National Champion in Half-Arabian Hunter Pleasure Maturity Horse. In addition to showing, Jacqueline and her family continue to breed and raise Arabian and Half-Arabian horses in Johnstown, Ohio. Adair Buckner was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas. She attended both undergraduate and law school at Texas Tech, and her blood runs red and black. Her husband’s grandmother was the very first graduate of Texas Tech. Her children were the 56th & 57th members of her husband’s family to attend Tech. Adair majored in business management as an undergraduate, finishing with honors. She immediately began law school and graduated with highest honors. While in law school, Adair was the Comments Editor of the Texas Tech Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif (the top 10% of the class). When she finished law school in 1976, Adair moved back to Amarillo to begin her law practice. She has been in law firms, large and small, during her practice and is now a sole practitioner. Adair has been actively involved in the Amarillo Area Bar Association and Amarillo Area Bar Foundation, having served on the boards and as president of both groups. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas Real Estate, and Estate Planning, and Probate, and the Labor and Employment Law sections. She has been board certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1996. She practices management-side only in employment law.

Lew graduated from Clinton High School where he was President of the Senior Class, President of Future Farmers of America, and received the American Farmer degree, the highest degree given by the organization. He was also voted “most likely to succeed” by his senior classmates. He graduated from Campbell University in 1987 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He served as President of the Adam Smith Club, Campbell’s second largest club. While at Campbell, Lew was nominated and placed in “Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities.” He is also listed in the United States Directory of “Outstanding Young Men in America.” In 1990, Lew graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law where he served on the Wake Forest Law Review for one year and received the American Jurisprudence Award for Excellence in Contracts as he was the top scorer for contracts in the law school division. He was also on the Dean’s List in recognition of his academic achievements in law school. Lew is currently the managing partner in the law firm of Daughtry, Woodard, Lawrence & Starling which has offices in Clinton and Smithfield, North Carolina. He is very active in the community and is a member of the Masonic Lodge, Hiram Lodge #98. He is also a Shriner and a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Clinton where he served as a Deacon. He was appointed unanimously by the Sampson County Board of Commissioners to the Board of Trustees of the Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton where he served a six-year term as the youngest member in the history of the Board and was reappointed to the Board for a second term. After serving twelve years, he was unanimously elected as general counsel for Sampson Regional Medical Center and is currently serving in that capacity. Lew serves on the Campbell University Board of Presidential Advisors and is currently serving on the Board of Trustees. He is currently also serving on the Board of the Clinton branch of First Citizens Bank. Lew has served on the Board of the Sampson Community College Foundation and has served as its President. Lew has also served since 2001 and continues to serve as the Chairman of the Clinton/Sampson Airport Authority. In 2001, Lew was elected Mayor of Clinton, and is currently serving his seventh term. While serving as Mayor, Clinton has been selected as an All American City, a national distinction. During his tenure, Lew has received the following awards for community leadership: Clinton-Sampson Chamber of Commerce Multi-Cultural; Business Committee’s Martin Luther King, Jr., Award; Honorary Chairman, March of Dimes Walk America 2003 and 2004. During these two years, the City of Clinton was a co-sponsor of the event and an active participant; Best Elected Official in Sampson County for the years 2003, 2004, and 2008; Recognized by the District 5 Steering Committee for outstanding service above and beyond his duties in the Civic Pride Clean-Up Day on October 7, 2006. He personally drove a trash truck to pick up the trash bags collected by the volunteers on Clean-Up Day. Lew spends countless hours every week attending community events and programs. He often attends weddings, birthday parties, and funerals of citizens of Clinton. He also has an open-door policy and meets with all citizens at their request and personally returns all calls to citizens. In support of the All American City effort in 2009, Lew forgave and donated his salary as Mayor for the endeavor. He was the keynote speaker at the Martin Luther King, Jr., event in January 2010. In 2010, Lew was recognized by the North Carolina Bar Association as a “Citizen Lawyer” for his work in the community. About the Citizen Lawyer Award: The NCBA Citizen Lawyer Award was established in 2007 to recognize lawyers who provide exemplary public service to their communities. Honorees include elected and appointed government officials, coaches, mentors and voluntary leaders of non-profit, civic and community organizations. Since 2007, there have been 64 recipients of the award. In 2012, Lew was selected by his peers to be included in The Best Lawyers in America®, 19th Edition for his work in the practice area of commercial litigation. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Escover served in the United States Marine Corps for ten years as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technician. While fulfilling his military duties, John earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Park University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. In December 2000, John graduated from Texas A&M University School of Law, where he was a Law Review Write-On Invitee as well as a member of the Phi Delta Phi Honors Fraternity. After law school, John began his legal career as a prosecutor in Williamson County’s Attorney’s Office where he was responsible for prosecution of all classes and phases of misdemeanor litigation including jury and bench trials, plea negotiations, probation revocations, and appeals. In 2003, John transitioned to civil litigation becoming an associate at Watson, Rossick PC, a firm specializing in toxic tort and products liability defense. John later served as an enforcement attorney for the Texas Lottery Commission representing the Commission during enforcement hearings at the State Office of Administrative Hearings. He also investigated, prosecuted and negotiated the largest fine at that time ever assessed against a bingo game manufacturer in the State of Texas. In 2006, John honed his trial experience in Austin concentrating his practice in medical malpractice, labor and employment, products liability, and personal injury actions securing millions in settlements and judgments on behalf of his clients. In 2011 the most destructive wildfire in Texas history decimated 1500 homes and business in Bastrop County, Texas. John and Bill Rossick filed suit on behalf of over 60 families and business owners against the electric company servicing Bastrop County and its vegetative management services company for failing to properly maintain its electrical lines that became entangled with tree branches that caused the fire. After over three years of doggedly prosecuting the claims of those home and business owners John and Bill secured a multi-million dollar settlement on behalf of their clients. Although John and Bill have since formed their own law firms, they continue to work together and represent clients in various matters as co-counsel. John is licensed in the United States Supreme Court, State of Texas, the United States District Court Western District of Texas, and is a member of the Texas Bar Foundation which is an organization of attorneys who represent the top 1/3 of 1% of the legal profession. From 2001 until 2010, John was also a professor of Criminal Justice for the University of Phoenix. John lives in Leander with his wife Donna and they have four children Bailey, Nolan, Keeli, and Wesley, two dogs, a turtle, and a hedgehog.
