Attorney Michael Berman is dedicated to helping wrongfully injured clients with various legal concerns, especially those dealing with personal injury law and workers’ compensation. Mr. Berman previously worked as a prosecutor with the State’s Attorney’s Office for Anne Arundel County, though he has ample experience in many different areas of the law. Born and raised in Maryland, Attorney Berman attended DeMatha Catholic High School before he went on to University of Maryland College Park. Attorney Berman then earned his JD from the University of Baltimore School of Law, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Concentration in Litigation and Advocacy. While in law school, Attorney Berman served as an Associate Comments Editor on the University of Baltimore Law Review, where he honed his legal writing skills. Mr. Berman also represented clients in civil commitment proceedings as a student attorney with the Disability Law Clinic, before going on to work as a Certified Mediator for the Health Advocacy Unit in the Office of the Attorney General. Attorney Berman was hired as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable J. Michael Wachs in the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County after he graduated law school. While working in that position, he frequently reviewed motions, conducted legal research, and assisted Judge Wachs with the preparation of various court rulings. During his time as an Assistant State’s Attorney, in addition to his sizeable caseload, Mr. Berman was responsible for screening DUI cases, sifting through hospital records, conducting competency hearings, and training colleagues on DUI case law. He started on the District Court team, before being promoted to the Circuit Court, and ultimately to the Auto-Manslaughter Trial Team. Christopher Frayer earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Northwood University in 1991. He later earned his Juris Doctor degree in 2001 from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Chris joined the firm in February 2024, focusing primarily on medical malpractice, nursing home neglect, birth injury, civil rights, and governmental claims. Prior to joining Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C., Chris served as a medical malpractice attorney at a firm in metro Detroit. He previously represented healthcare companies, professionals, and corporate clients litigating medical malpractice cases in state and federal courts.

Michael Bonvolanta earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 2011 from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. He earned his Juris Doctor degree in 2015 from the University of Detroit – Mercy School of Law where he graduated magna cum laude. He was admitted to the Frank Murphy Honor Society and served as a member of UDM’s Moot Court Board of Advocates. Bonvolanta is admitted to practice law in the State of Michigan, the United States District Court of the Eastern District of Michigan, the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan, and the United States District Court for the Western District of New York. Mr. Math, is originally from New York and after having served in the U.S. Navy relocated to Los Angeles where he attended California State University at Los Angeles, graduating in 1968. Mr. Math subsequently attended and graduated from Loyola University, School of Law. While attending he was, as a result of his having excelled in Moot Court Competition and Legal Writing, awarded a Teaching Fellowship. Mr. Math graduated from Loyola University in 1972 afterwhich he attended UCLA, Institute of Industrial Relations under a grant of the U.S. Department of Labor and was trained as an Arbitrator. Timothy A. Rowe was born in Mansfield, Ohio. His father was a missionary in Africa and his uncle is a Lutheran minister. He graduated from the College of Emporia with a degree in Biblical Studies. He also attended the University of California Berkeley and Indiana University. He graduated with a B.A. with distinction in History and Classics from Indiana University and graduated cum laude from Indiana University School of Law, Indianapolis. He is also a graduate of Gary Spencer’s Trial College Seminars. He has been a partner in the law firm of Rowe and Hamilton for 38 years. His practice is currently concentrated in auto accident litigation, personal injury, nursing home litigation, environmental torts, civil rights, in premises liability.

Jules Porter is an attorney, business law professor, legal analyst, artificial intelligence (AI) developer, and video game developer who enjoys simplifying complex legal issues to make the law more approachable for all. Jules is an Associate Attorney at Ed Shaw Law Firm where she practices business law, family law, criminal law, and intellectual property law. She is also a game director at Seraph 7 Studios, a console video game development company that provides work-study experience for local students. Jules is also an AI developer and trainer who works to improve the analytical capabilities of various large language and natural language models. Jules is a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran who earned both her JD and MBA from the University of St. Thomas where she currently serves as an adjunct business law and intellectual property law professor. Jules also earned a B.S. in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and is a seminary theology degree holder. Jules frequently lectures at local, national, and international schools where she speaks to students about various legal, government, business, civil rights, and science and technology topics to include: augmented reality, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, blockchain technology, computer programming, game development engines, and design. Jules also serves on the University of St. Thomas School of Law Outreach and Connections Committee and recently held the positions of Treasurer and Secretary on the Board of the Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers. Matthew J. Fogelman is a founding partner of Fogelman Law LLC. Mr. Fogelman’s litigation practice is focused on employment law and personal injury cases. He is an experienced trial lawyer, having won a number of significant cases on behalf of plaintiffs, including prevailing before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court in a ground-breaking disability discrimination case involving an employee’s right to use medical marijuana off-site. Mr. Fogelman also reached a settlement in a catastrophic personal injury case for $11.5 million, one of the largest settlement in Massachusetts in 2024. Mr. Fogelman has also prevailed on a race and gender discrimination case in Middlesex County for $2.5 million, and on an age discrimination case in Norfolk County, securing a $1.2 million verdict at trial for his client. The firm also recently settled a wrongful death / dram shop case for $2.2 million at mediation. For his work on the Barbuto medical marijuana employment case, Mr. Fogelman was named one of the “Lawyers of the Year” for 2017 by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly; he also received the award for most outstanding 2017 “Professional Achievement” of any member by USA500, a prominent networking group of lawyers and other professionals, out of 650 members.
