Catherine “Catie” Meehan is a partner at the Steinberg Law Firm. She has an extensive background in the medical field with degrees in both psychology and nursing, in addition to her law degree. Catie’s nursing background comes into play daily as she represents individuals who have been injured at work or in their lives. Her experience as a licensed registered nurse (RN) at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) gives her an understanding of her clients’ medical issues, injuries, treatment, and healing that many attorneys do not have. As a nurse, she developed the empathy to understand what her clients are experiencing. Clients also appreciate Catie’s open and honest communication and her ability to set realistic outcomes. She advocates fiercely on her clients’ behalf because she knows the toll a workers’ compensation or personal injury case can take on her clients and their families. Catie helps her clients by answering their questions that range from obtaining medical treatment and weekly compensation checks while out of work to getting partial and total disability benefits. Catie understands the difficulties a personal injury or work accident creates including pain and income loss. She works hard to ensure that clients receive regular workers’ compensation weekly checks and uninterrupted medical care. Catie earned a B.A. in psychology from the University of Notre Dame before heading to MUSC to earn a B.S. in nursing. After years of serving patients in a hospital setting, Catie wanted to help them in a legal setting and decided to become a lawyer. Both medical and legal disciplines serve her well in understanding what victims of accidents go through. While in law school, Catie received the Founder’s Award for Professionalism in Advocacy. She also served as Student Works Editor of the Charleston Law Review. Catie has authored published articles for Charleston Law Review that explored human tissue property rights. Her other study covered NFL concussion litigation with a proposal to create a victim relief fund to compensate former NFL players with football-related neurological injuries. In addition to her law practice, Catie is involved in her community and professional organizations. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Kids’ Chance of South Carolina. This organization provides scholarships and support for college and vocational education to dependents of South Carolina workers catastrophically or fatally injured in work-related accidents. She also serves on the Alumni Board of the Charleston School of Law and the MUSC College of Nursing Board — the latter service keeps her knowledge of nursing trends current, which often aids her in helping her clients. She is a member of Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, Junior League of Charleston, South Carolina Bar Association, and the bar association’s Young Lawyers Division. Catie and her husband, Jerry, live in Charleston with their two daughters.

Attorney Ryan Zabel is committed to fighting for justice for his clients, whether they have been wrongfully injured or are facing criminal charges. Mr. Zabel was born and raised in North Carolina where he attended Appalachian State University for his undergraduate degree. After working in the commercial door and hardware industry for nine years, Mr. Zabel moved to Maryland to pursue his JD, graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law. While in law school, Mr. Zabel was a member of the Royal Graham Shannonhouse Honor Society. Mr. Zabel also served as a Staff Editor on the University of Baltimore Law Forum. During law school Mr. Zabel represented clients as a Rule 19 attorney through the Human Trafficking Prevention Project Clinic. After graduating from law school, Mr. Zabel secured a position as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Anthony Vittoria in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City. During his clerkship, Mr. Zabel conducted research, drafted opinions and orders, and assisted the Judge in all aspects of both civil and criminal trials. Following his clerkship, Mr. Zabel worked at a firm specializing in professional malpractice defense. Mr. Zabel then moved on to his next endeavor as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Prince George’s County. While working as a prosecutor, Mr. Zabel prosecuted thousands of major motor vehicle and misdemeanor criminal cases. In addition to handling a significant volume of cases which allowed him to hone his trial skills, Mr. Zabel was also entrusted with the training of incoming attorneys. Mr. Zabel brings a wealth of knowledge and extensive trial experience. He is steadfast in his commitment to his clients and always fights for justice.

Garrett J. TenHave-Chapman is the founding attorney for Solomon Law Firm PLLC. He is a litigator with over twenty-five years of experience. Garrett focuses on Social Security Disability, Workers' Compensation, Personal Bankruptcy and Child Custody, Immigration and Motor Vehicle Law. He also is experienced in appellate law, veterans' benefits, landlord-tenant, criminal law, insurance defense, entertainment law, environmental due diligence, and general litigation. Garrett has advocated for both plaintiffs and defendants. Although he now concentrates his practice on helping clients with social security, workers' compensation, personal bankruptcy, child custody, immigration, and motor vehicle issues, he knows how to weigh both sides of an issue. He prosecutes cases for plaintiffs but also has defended businesses. He is able to help his clients on either side of an issue understand their opponent, and therefore be prepared for what may happen next in a case. Garrett holds a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Hope College, a Master of Divinity from Chicago Theological Seminary, and a law degree from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Garrett is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, its Social Security and Worker's Compensation sections, the Grand Rapids Bar Association, and both the Western and Eastern Michigan Districts of the United States District Court. He also is an accredited attorney with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Garrett is a sustaining member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives (NOSSCR) and a member of the Michigan Association for Justice. Garrett enjoys the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, softball, movies, singing, and running. He is a member of both the First Congregational Church of Rockford and Tachanuwnah International Ministries. He and his family reside in Rockford.

Adam joined Fitzpatrick & Associates in 2017. He concentrates his practice in Worker’s Compensation, Social Security Disability, Personal Injury, Employment law, and Automobile accidents. Adam attended New England School of Law │ Boston, and received his Juris Doctor Magna Cum Laude in 2016 . While in Law School Adam was on the Dean’s list all semesters, received the New England Scholar Award from 2013-2015, was awarded the Trustee’s Academic Scholarship from 2014-2016. Adam served as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Judge Raymond Brassard in Superior Court and he served as a student Attorney for the New England Law│Boston Clinical law Office representing clients in Social Security Disability, Family Law, and Elder Planning. Adam also studied at the National University of Ireland, Galway where he participated in a course entitled Perspective on the U.S. Supreme Court taught by the late Justice Antonin Scalia. George P. Escobedo was born in Laredo, Texas and grew up in Del Rio and South Texas. George graduated with a Business degree from Angelo State University in 1992. He went on to receive a Masters degree in Economics from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1998. George obtained his law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, where he was Associate Editor of the St. Mary’s Law Journal and published “Beneficiary Beware”: New Directions from Matassarin v. Lynch for Those with Qualified Domestic Relations Orders. While in law school, George was also a student attorney for St. Mary’s Center for Legal and Social Justice Clinic, as well as a member of Phi Alpha Delta and the Hispanic Law Student Association. Currently, George devotes his time and expertise to representing injured workers against insurance companies and their lawyers. George also represents individuals in asserting their social security disability benefits. On his spare time, George enjoys spending time with his lovely wife Yvonne and two wonderful children, Diego and Sofia.

David Pearlman has spent his entire life observing the dignity of and respect for the law, thanks to the example of his father, the Honorable Gus H. Pearlman, who was probate judge for Charleston County for 35 years. “He taught me that everybody deserves respect, dignity, and equal justice, no matter their background,” David says. He has spent his entire career trying to ensure that “justice for all” means just that, beginning even before going into practice by marching for civil and workers’ rights as a student at both the University of Georgia and George Washington University. After receiving his law degree from the University of South Carolina Law School in 1976, David joined the Steinberg Law Firm. “Irving Steinberg founded the firm to help the working people of South Carolina,” he says, “which is why it’s always been the perfect place for me to practice law.” In 1980, he became a partner of the firm. David has been a member of the South Carolina Bar for more than 40 years and has won landmark cases before the South Carolina Court of Appeals and the South Carolina Supreme Court. David served as an adjunct professor of workers’ compensation law at the Charleston School of Law for two years, has lectured about workers’ rights, and served on numerous committees devoted to such concerns, including as legislative chairperson for South Carolina Injured Workers’ Advocates (IWA) for the last 12 years. He is a past recipient of the Gedney M. Howe Jr. Award for Outstanding Public Service and a 2011 and 2017 honorable recipient of the Leadership in Law recognition by Lawyers Weekly. For over a decade, he has been named one of the Best Lawyers in America and has been nominated by his peers as a Super Lawyer year after year. He also holds the highest professional and ethical rating (AV) in Martindale-Hubbell, a prestigious legal directory. Not only is David highly respected by his peers; he is deeply loved by his staff because of his character and passion for helping people. He is a champion in his profession and dedicated to community outreach. Among his volunteer activities, he helps local first responders and law enforcement personnel cope with mental injuries sustained as a result of their jobs. He also supports the Trident Literacy Association, which helps adults reverse the cycle and impact of generational poverty and illiteracy by helping them acquire vital life skills. David and his wife of 39 years, Janet, live on Sullivan’s Island and have two children. He is proud to say that their children are following his family’s tradition of legal service: Their daughter is a lawyer in Chicago, and their son is a lawyer in New York City.

Attorney Andrew C. Barr’s practice areas include personal injury, workers’ compensation, and product liability. Andrew graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law and has been practicing law since 1989. He has represented persons in all courts including family court, circuit court, magistrates court, property damage arbitration, mediation, federal court, the SC Court of Appeals and the SC Supreme Court. Andrew has been practicing law since 1989, when he received his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Andrew has a wife and four kids. He is an avid LSU fan and the entire family enjoys traveling to different sporting events. He and his wife enjoy traveling and spending time on the Florida coast. Andrew was an ardent golfer until his passions turned towards fishing and hunting.

Mr. Flaherty joined Keches Law Group, P.C. in 2004 with a background in the construction industry. He is a former member of the Local 7 Steel and Ironworkers Union. Sean received his bachelor's degree summa cum laude from Quinnipiac University. While at Quinnipiac University, Mr. Flaherty was named to the Phi Beta Kapa International Honor Society. He earned his law degree from New England School of Law and is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts.Before joining Keches Law Group, P.C., Mr. Flaherty interned with the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office.
