Joel Silverman was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. He moved to Missoula in 1992 and received his B.A. in Mathematics and B.S. in Forestry from the University of Montana in 1997. He received his law degree from Lewis and Clark College in 2003 and an LL.M. (master’s degree) in Taxation from the University of Washington in 2004. Joel’s business career began in high school, when he started his own fly tying company and taught fly tying and fly-fishing classes. His fly-fishing business continued through college and law school. During college, Joel took 10th place in a world fly-tying competition. He continued to use his business skills after graduating from college, by helping fly-fishing lodges, around the world, to improve their businesses through marketing and improved business techniques. After law school, Joel spent his first three years of private practice in Butte, Montana, assisting clients with business matters, entity formation, tax planning for businesses and individuals, Wills, Trusts, elder law, property transactions, and liquor and gambling issues. Joel moved to Helena, Montana, in 2006, after joining the Montana Department of Revenue as an attorney. His nearly six years at the Department of Revenue were spent working on legislation, liquor, and gambling matters, and litigating various federal and state tax law issues (collections, income tax, coal and gas severance tax, property tax, and telecommunications taxes). Silverman Law Office, PLLC was opened in May of 2012, when Joel recognized that there was a large need for a business and estate planning law office, that did more than just repeat the law to the client. Joel realized individuals and businesses need lawyers that focus on the client’s goals and needs, rather than just the clients’ legal issues. Joel’s practice focuses on assisting individuals and businesses with business law, tax, succession planning, employment issues, mergers and acquisitions, wills, trusts, property transactions, liquor and gambling law, and oil and natural gas law. Additionally, Joel has been coaching and consulting various businesses to deal with the new world of marketing and business practices. Joel enjoys playing soccer, spending time outdoors, working with veterans through Montana Mending Waters, serving on boards for the Montana Business Assistance Connection and the Helena College Foundation, and spending time with his wife, Andrea Silverman, skiing, hiking, and fly-fishing.

A Louisiana native, Stephen Babcock has developed a reputation for taking on high-profile cases involving catastrophic personal injury matters and business disputes. Born and raised outside of Ruston, La., Stephen attended Louisiana Tech University, where he received a B.S. in marketing in 1997. Already a licensed real estate agent at the time, his intention was to go to law school and become a title attorney. However, not long after he began his studies at Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Babcock changed his mind and realized he wanted to be a trial lawyer instead. Read more below… After receiving his J.D. in 2000, he launched his legal career, joining Allstate Insurance Co., as an in-house trial attorney. A year later, he joined the law firm of McKay Williamson Lutgring & Cochran as an associate attorney handling mostly personal injury cases. In 2003, he ventured out to create his own firm, which would inevitably become Babcock Trial Lawyers. Babcock has been serving the legal needs of clients from his Baton Rouge office ever since. His practice focuses solely on litigation and he has tried cases in state and federal courts throughout Louisiana. A licensed pilot, Babcock often flies to his destinations to more efficiently make use of his time for clients. Although he never turns down the chance to try cases before juries, Babcock is also a strong proponent of alternative dispute resolution and participates in mediations and arbitrations as much as possible. His high-profile cases have included a nearly $2 million arbitration award for a hotel manager against the owner of a Hilton Hotel. He also represented the sportsmen’s organization Ducks Unlimited in a million-dollar federal lawsuit involving a New Orleans artist’s prints. Babcock filed motions for summary judgment in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana on behalf of his client, and the case resulted in a voluntary dismissal. He also made the national news in early 2008 when LSU played Ohio State for the BCS National Football Championship game. Babcock — an ardent LSU football fan — was successful in convincing a state judge to delay a trial that was scheduled to occur at the same time as the game (which LSU won, 38-24). Babcock’s work has earned the recognition of a number of professional organizations. They include being named a Top Ten Personal Injury Attorney Baton Rouge by the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys, selection by his peers for inclusion in Best Lawyers of America for personal injury law and commercial litigation, a “Superb” rating in the Avvo legal directory, and “Rising Star” status by SuperLawyers magazine. Mr. Jones’s practice includes all types of injuries, and death caused by the negligence of a person or business. Many injuries occur on the roadway, 18-wheeler or trucking wrecks, and car wrecks. His practice also includes slip and fall litigation, motorcycle wrecks, bicycle wrecks, pedestrian wrecks and any other insurance claim involving injuries. Mr. Jones attended the University of Mississippi School of Law. He is admitted to the practice of law in all of the State courts of Mississippi and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi. Mr. Jones attended Belhaven University where he earned an athletic scholarship for the men’s soccer team and obtained a Bachelor of the Sciences in Psychology with a Minor in Business. Mr. Jones has utilized his training in psychology in the courtroom for jury selection, and at the settlement table to seek to understand his opponent.

Bill Hidalgo is a 1990 graduate of Louisiana State University Law School and has over 25 years of legal expertise. A resident of Covington, Louisiana, he serves the Greater New Orleans area and specializes in DWI/DUI defense, personal injury, insurance, business litigation, family and criminal law. A leader in Louisiana law, he authored, “Relation Back of Consortium Claims: A Search for Facts and Notice,” which appeared in the Louisiana Law Review 1089 in 1989.
