About Stephen
Stephen F. Rossman, a founding partner in the trial firm Rossman Baumberger Reboso Spier & Connolly, P.A., has been an outstanding trial lawyer, teacher, and lecturer in South Florida for more than 30 years, successfully representing plaintiffs in serious complex personal injury and wrongful death matters.
His accomplishments include numerous multi-million dollar recoveries for a wide range of clients, including victims of medical negligence and defective products as well as construction workers, shooting victims, and individuals who have sustained spinal cord and head injuries.
During the past three decades, he has served as president of the Florida Justice Association (formerly the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers) and the Miami-Dade Justice Association (formerly the Dade County Trial Lawyers Association). He also has served on the boards of the American Justice Association (formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America), The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Section, the Dade County Bar Young Lawyers Section, and the Florida Lawyers Action Group. He served as a member of the Judicial Nominating Commission for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit.
Steve taught trial skills as a member of the adjunct faculty at the University of Miami School of Law. He has also been a frequent lecturer at numerous professional bar programs and has co-authored several articles.
Steve has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1966 and was admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Trial Lawyers for the Public Justice, and the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Society of Barristers. Steve has been listed consistently as one of the top lawyers in South Florida in the South Florida Legal Guide.
He received his B.A. degree from the University of Florida in 1963 and his J.D. degree from the University of Florida College of Law in 1966.
Long active in community affairs, Steve in late 2004 became the first Miamian ever to serve on the National Board of Easter Seals. He became national First Vice Chair, a member of the Executive Committee and Chairman of the Affiliate Services Committee in 2007.
Steve served three terms as Chairman of the Board of Easter Seals Miami-Dade after more than 15 years' service as a director and has served as a delegate to the Easter Seals National Convention. Additionally, he is president of his local homeowners association, a member of the Friends of New Life Homeless Shelter and has served as a class representative on the University of Florida Law School Alumni Council. He is an active fundraiser for numerous charities and was a founding member of the Legal Advocates of the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis.
