Tanya Eliason was initially drawn to the study of law upon learning about the intersection of law and science, specifically, biotechnology patents. Her initial interest in biotechnology patents has since blossomed into a love of all areas of Intellectual Property.
While Tanya’s interest in IP stems from academic exposure, her dedication to serving small businesses and startups is purely personal. Many of the most important people in her life are entrepreneurs. She’s seen first-hand the frustration they endure when they need legal advice, but don’t know where to look or can’t afford it. Or even worse, she’s seen the mistakes they make when they desperately needed legal advice but didn’t know it. Tanya draws on those experiences to help her clients avoid pitfalls, plan, and strategize for the future.
She works with clients in a wide array of industries such as, arts, fashion, entertainment, high technology, food & beverage, and beauty – tailoring her services to suit each client’s unique needs.
In her free time, Tanya samples the smorgasbord of ethnic foods the Bay Area has to offer and dreams of traveling to the countries of origin of her favorite foods. She also studies Spanish with the hopes of one day being fluent.
Tanya is a member of the California Bar. She earned her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where she concentrated in Intellectual Property.
She is admitted to practice in all California state courts and is a member of the Intellectual Property Law Section of the California Bar. Tanya is also an involved member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), Bar Association of San Francisco, and various other bar and community organizations.
Prior to attending law school, Tanya earned a B.S. in Microbiology with a minor in Biochemistry from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia (formerly, the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy & Science) and later worked as a researcher in genetics/biotechnology before moving into the legal field.
