Growing up in Grainger County, Tennessee I spent many days picking tomatoes and beans, cutting tobacco and hauling hay. I love being involved with the people of this county. My husband, Ron, and I love our animals.  We have a horse named Elmer.  We also have a donkey, Babybell, and a Shih Tzu, named Piddles.  My parents are Margaret and J.C. Jones of Rutledge. My sisters are Janie Kaufman, Jamie Graves, and Cindy Collins. My daughter and office assistant is Casey Lett. I have two grandchildren, Isaac and Maryah. Mr. Toy graduated magna cum laude and top of his class from Liberty University School of Law in Lynchburg, VA. While there, Mr. Toy served on Senior Staff of the Law Review, publishing his Comment, Restoring the Gatekeeper: How Illustrative Notice Pleading Can Save the American Judicial System. Mr. Toy was also a finalist in the school’s 1L Moot Court competition and served as Chairman of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Board, including competing nationally on the school’s Negotiation Competition team. He is licensed to practice law in all courts in the state of Tennessee. Mr. Toy is also a member of the Rutherford and Cannon County Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, the Murfreesboro Estate Planning Council, Lawyers With Purpose, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.

One day as he was floating in the water studying the growth of the coral reef, a hammerhead shark swam up. Michael was surrounded by coral, which is very sharp and can cut you easily. Swimming away or climbing on the coral was not an option. Michael stayed calm and kept an eye on the shark. He waited out the shark and was unscathed when he later swam to shore.
