About Thane
Ty was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He graduated in 2003 from Texas A&M with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management. In 2006, he obtained his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law, where he graduated cum laude.
While at South Texas College of Law, Ty consistently made the Deans' List and also received an American Jurisprudence Award for academic excellence. In 2005, Ty was selected to be a student member of the Burta Rhodes Raborn Inns of Court, a professional family law association, for 2005 through 2006. In 2006, Ty received his mediation certificate and was actively involved with South Texas' Frank Evans Center for Conflict Resolution where he mediated numerous IVD child support and custody cases, and Houston Independent School District truancy cases. In May of 2006, Ty was honored with a Certificate of Support from the HISD's South Region for his role in mediating numerous truancy cases at Madison High School and Dowling Middle School.
Ty began working at the firm during law school as a law clerk and after graduating from South Texas, he became an associate. Ty was admitted to practice in all Texas State Courts in 2006 and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas in 2007. He is a member of the Houston Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
