Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

Today, February 3, 2014, I just finished a fifteen month endeavor to end a nightmare for a client with a Jury Trial Win!. He was are charged with aggravated battery to a Police Officer stemming from an incident that took place at his home while his family who were all key witnesses. They were sitting in their living room watching T.V. one night when a police car pulled into their driveway, overhead and spotlights flashing after a motorist pulled in before the police car. My client went out to see what was happening at his house and the cop (on videotape, no audio) ordered him back into his house using profanity and not providing even a brief explanation. His son was out that night, so he wasn't sure if he was in the car. He didn't go back in his house, so the cop grabbed him and threw him against the trunk to frisk him for weapons. Then the cop jabbed him with his flashlight stating he was trying to move and my client spun around immediately and glanced his arm against the police officer's face (no injuries). Three cops testified against my client and the jury didn't believe their stories. So I kept the lifelong Felony conviction of his record!

How did you build a successful practice?

I built my law practice around several factors. First, having the experience of a misdemeanor and felony prosecutor gave me valuable trial and courtroom experience. I saw what work and what didn't with the judges and juries. Next, hard work, tough and aggressive representation and word of mouth helped.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Experience in their field and local attorneys who know the judges, state's attorneys and courthouse personnel.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Very important because each courtroom is different. Different judges, state's attorneys and other critical factors.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

Phone consultations are free.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

Tell me how I can help! What are you charged with. Do you have a past record. Briefly explain to me what the factual basis was that lead to your arrest.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

I have handled over 10,000 criminal cases ranging from Battery to Murder as a prosecutor and a defense attorney. I was a two term past president of the criminal defense bar association here locally and a Commissioner on the Illinois Racing Board.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is winning cases for the innocent and assisting good people who made an honest mistake.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

My interests include being a High School Football Referee, exercising, martial arts, reading and traveling.

Are you involved in your community?

Church activities, food pantry volunteer, lawyers lending a hand volunteer and school advisor.
