Mr. Sand attended college at Hamline University where he served as captain of the men’s baseball team. He then attended law school at the University of San Diego where he was awarded the Honorable Louis M. Welsh Endowed Scholarship. This award is given to the person that best “exemplifies the highest ethical standards and believes in the humanity of the law” and who demonstrates a “passionate desire to fulfill a lifelong dream of becoming a trial lawyer.” While in law school Bill spent time with the public defenders office, worked for a civil litigation firm, and also wrote published articles based on various state agencies.
After law school Bill entered the field of child advocacy law and helped obtain millions of dollars in services for children. He later turned his focus to personal injury law and began experiencing similar results. Bill has experienced uncommon success with an abnormally high success rate at all stages of litigation – from jury verdicts to judicial rulings in favor of his clients.
Outside of the law Bill enjoys spending time with his wife Lauren, playing music, and coaching amateur baseball. He is involved with the Special Olympics, has volunteered at care centers for the elderly, and founded a number of youth baseball camps.
Personal Injury: Contingency Fee. No recovery, no fee Criminal Defense: Flat fee. Rates depend on severity of the charges.

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
I was able to help a mother and her children recover a substantial amount of money resulting from a case where they were all injured in the same event.
How did you build a successful practice?
By developing trust with our clients and achieving uncommon results.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Someone that isn't afraid to try cases
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
Extremely important. There are so many local rules and policies that attorneys from other jurisdictions are unaware of. Failing to know those rules and policies can really hurt a client's case.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
How we handle cases, what we think your case may be worth, how we will investigate your case, and information about how we would or would not be a good fit for you as a client.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
I need a summary of what happened and how you have been affected by your injuries.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
I am not afraid of confrontation.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Helping our clients get financial compensation to ease the stress related to their injuries.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
I enjoy spending time with family and the outdoors
Are you involved in your community?
Volunteering with Special Olympics.
