Jim Powers is a seasoned Georgia divorce and family law attorney with over 10 years of trial and litigation experience. Kristi Gibbs is a family law attorney with a unique professional background that informs every aspect of her practice. Before becoming an attorney, Kristi spent many years working in mental health counseling, developing skills that are particularly valuable in family law matters involving children and complex family dynamics. Kristi earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology and counseling from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, followed by a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of New Orleans. During her doctoral program, she minored in play therapy and later became a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor. Her doctoral research focused on how counselors are trained to counsel children, and her professional work included many years of counseling children and teaching play therapy—an approach that allows children to express emotions and experiences through play when they are not yet able to do so verbally. She later transitioned from counseling into the legal field, earning her Juris Doctor from Georgia State University College of Law and admission to the State Bar of Georgia in 2020. She served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Appalachian Judicial Circuit, where she prosecuted juvenile cases and gained significant courtroom experience involving children and families. Lyndsi Adams is a family law attorney known for her compassion, intellectual rigor, and determination. Lyndsi earned her Juris Doctor from Georgia State University College of Law, where she served on the Executive Board of the Black Law Students Association and represented part-time students in the Sports & Entertainment Law Society. She completed her legal education while working full-time, demonstrating discipline, resilience, and strong commitment to her goals. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from Jacksonville State University and was recognized on the Dean’s List. Before practicing law, Lyndsi built a successful career in administration and compliance, developing expertise in precision, problem-solving, and navigating complex regulations. Jessica Nixon is a family law attorney whose early career has been shaped by courtroom-focused experience and child-centered legal advocacy.Her background in both prosecution and child-focused legal advocacy provides a valuable perspective when navigating sensitive and complex legal matters. Jessica earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law, where she served as Executive Chair of Mock Trial and participated in the Prosecutorial Justice Program at the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office. During law school, she was also a student attorney at the Wilbanks Child Endangerment and Sexual Exploitation Clinic, where she contributed to key stages of litigation, including legal research, drafting pleadings, and trial preparation. She was recognized for her academic achievement with the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Family Law. In 2024, she was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia. She gained experience at the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office, assisting in prosecuting felony and misdemeanor cases. Her skills include participating in hearings, preparing cases for trial, and collaborating with attorneys, investigators, and witnesses throughout litigation. Mr. Near is an active lawyer handling cases involving litigation, bankruptcy/debt relief, estate planning, domestic disputes, personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, and premises liability. Constance Wannamaker, attorney and founder, advocates for the legal rights of immigrants and runs ultramarathons. Fluent in Spanish, she joined VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) to assist migrants and refugees. She studied at Oxford University, working in the Immigration Law Clinic. After graduating from the University of Maryland Law School in 1999, she began her career fighting for the rights of immigrants across the nation.
