I graduated cum laude in 2002 from the Georgia State University College of Law, where I was a member of Law Review. My undergraduate degree is in history from the University of Florida. Prior to and during law school, I worked at the Federal Trade Commission on consumer protection cases, primarily involving enforcement actions under Section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission Act relating to advertising and marketing practices. I started my legal career at a large international firm, where I defended FTC enforcement actions as well as represented international corporations in a diverse variety of high-stakes cases involving advertising, marketing, trademark and copyright protection, defamation, and business disputes. Desiring more trial work, I transitioned to a mid-size firm with other former big firm attorneys. There, I continued my diverse practice, tried over 40 cases, and made partner. In August 2021, I founded Bazinet Law, where I bring together my diverse legal background to help people with unique legal problems that touch on the area of social media, intellectual property, consumer protection, and sports. Outside of my law practice, I am licensed soccer coach who has worked with high-level competitive youth soccer for the better part of 30 years. I also play and am an avid fan.

Shawna Woods is a seasoned family law attorney whose practice is grounded in respect for justice, advocacy, and thoughtful representation. Inspired early on by To Kill a Mockingbird and encouraged by a former classmate, Shawna pursued a legal career rooted in principle and purpose. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico School of Law, where she built a strong foundation in legal writing, analysis, and advocacy. During law school, she was a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys Moot Court Team and interned with the United States Attorney’s Office; these experiences shaped her courtroom presence and litigation skills. Throughout her career, Shawna has focused her practice on family law, representing clients in domestic relations matters, adoption, prenuptial agreements, trials, and appeals. She is known for approaching each case with diligence, clarity, and compassion, ensuring clients feel respected and supported during some of life’s most difficult transitions. Shawna’s work is guided by a simple principle instilled by her father: never ask someone to do something you would not do yourself. She applies that mindset by offering solutions she would personally stand behind and by working collaboratively with clients and colleagues to achieve outcomes that are both practical and fair. Shawna also takes pride in serving diverse families. She understands that every client’s priorities are shaped by personal experience, culture, and values. By listening closely and remaining open to unfamiliar perspectives, she identifies creative solutions that honor what matters most to each family she serves.
