Ms. Hermer is a member of the firm's Real Estate, Utility, and Commercial Law practice groups. Ms. Hermer concentrates her real estate practice on representing developers, landlords, tenants, builders, contractors, and other types of business owners. Ms. Hermer acquired extensive experience in commercial real estate matters as in-house counsel with Duke Realty Corp. Ms. Hermer draws on that experience today when assisting real estate clients in negotiating and documenting different types of transactions, including the acquisition and development of land, commercial leases and construction agreements.
Ms. Hermer's real estate practice compliments her extensive experience in utility regulatory matters. Ms. Hermer represents both regulated and unregulated utilities, newly formed corporations, and other commercial groups before the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission and state and federal courts. Ms. Hermer also provides clients with strategic advice on utility related matters. Ms. Hermer is well-versed with Indiana 's 2006 Telecommunications Reform Legislation (HEA 1279) and works with clients to assimilate the comprehensive regulatory changes into their operations.
