About Angela

Angela Mason received her Bachelor of Arts Degree (English) with highest honors in 1988. A recipient of the Bradley Award for the Humanities, the Burckhardt Award and the Hargis Fellowship, she received her Master of Arts Degree (English) with highest honors in 1990 from Auburn University. She remained at Auburn University an additional two years, teaching Business Writing, Technical Writing and American Literature.

Ms. Mason received her Doctorate of Jurisprudence, summa cum laude, in 1996 from the University of Georgia School of Law. While at the University of Georgia, she served on the editorial and managerial boards for the Georgia Law Review, on the Board of Directors for the Equal Justice Foundation, a non-profit public interest corporation, and as an officer for the Women Law Students Association. Upon graduation, Ms. Mason worked as a federal law clerk for the Honorable Ira DeMent in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama.

After completing her federal clerkship, Ms. Mason began work in 1997 at Cherry, Givens, Peters & Lockett, the firm that would eventually evolve into the Cochran Law Firm. Though she has represented plaintiffs in a variety of actions, she has focused her practice primarily on complex litigation, products liability and contract actions.

Ms. Mason was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 1996, the Georgia State Bar in 1998 and the Washington D.C. Bar in 2000. She is admitted to practice before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States District Courts in the Middle District of Alabama, the Northern District of Alabama, the Southern District of Alabama, the Northern District of Georgia, the Middle District of Georgia and the District of Columbia. Additionally, she is licensed to practice in all state courts at the trial and appellate levels in Alabama, Georgia and Washington, D.C. She is a member of the Alabama Trial Lawyers and currently serves on the editorial board for the Alabama Trial Lawyers Journal. She is also a member of the Houston County Bar and serves on the Houston County Bar Grievance Committee, where she investigates complaints against lawyers.
