Questions & Answers
Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
I was hired on for a client who was in an auto accident and he was accused of killing his wife and a person in an on coming car. The state charged him with double homicide. I took the case, found an expert witness, made the state see that their analysis of the case was wrong, and I got the case dismissed! I saved my client a lifetime in prison.
How did you build a successful practice?
I have been in business over 13 years! The key to a successful practice is great communication, awesome staff, and cutting edge systems. The number one complaint about attorneys is that they don't call their clients back, we call people back! Look at our google reviews, we are know for our communication! We also have a case management system that allows you to see any and all evidence in real time as we enter it into our system. Decisions are made knowing all the information. Our staff is awesome, we have very little turn over, we pay well and treat our staff well so you will be treated well and have a consistent contact person at our firm.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
I think people should look for an attorney they feel comfortable to talk to, not someone who talks down to them or can't put things in way they can understand. You should feel your attorney is competent, has been there before and has examples of previous cases like yours. in our office we talk in terms you can understand and have been there before with proven examples of success.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
Each jurisdiction is different so have experience in the local area is important. Each court has its own "local rules" which if your attorney isn't familiar with that rule or that particular judge's rule it can have lasting consequences. For instance, if you have a judge that won't do house arrest, knowing that upfront can change what you decide to do with your case. Or if the local court wants fines paid immediately upon sentencing, setting your last hearing after a pay day can make a huge difference. You are paying for your attorney to not only know the law, but know how that particular court operates, how the prosecutor negotiates and how the jail and probation department handle defendants.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
I can give you an idea of the potential consequences of the charges you are facing. I can give you an idea, from previous cases, what are some potential outcomes. I can give you an idea of the estimated time to complete the case. I can give you an idea of potential costs. I can give you payment options, payment plans etc.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
I always say the more information you have the better. The more information we have the better consultation we can give you. We always pull the public access information to see what charges we see online about you and your case but having any documentation can help us get the correct spelling, agencies involved, courts and potential other risks (forfeiture, restitution, orders of protection, victims rights)
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
I am a blue collar guy, I worked driving a truck for Pepsi prior to law school. I think this allows me to connect with client's in simple terms. I know money doesn't grow on trees and when you hire me, I am going to treat you like I want to be treated.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
I love making genuine connections with my clients. I always joke with my clients I seem to spend more money on at my client's businesses than they spend on me. I always try to use my past clients to work on my house or business offices. I try to make life long connections, most clients have my personal cell number and stay in contact years after I represent them.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
I love to hike, workout, and watch sports. I am a huge ASU sports fan. I also love being a dad of two girls and a husband. I am involved with my daughters sports teams. I have two cats and a Portuguese Water Dog named Tillie
Are you involved in your community?
I coach basketball, I am active in my church, and help support my daughters sports teams.
