I was hired on for a client who was in an auto accident and he was accused of killing his wife and a person in an on coming car. The state charged him with double homicide. I took the case, found an expert witness, made the state see that their analysis of the case was wrong, and I got the case dismissed! I saved my client a lifetime in prison.

Each jurisdiction is different so have experience in the local area is important. Each court has its own "local rules" which if your attorney isn't familiar with that rule or that particular judge's rule it can have lasting consequences. For instance, if you have a judge that won't do house arrest, knowing that upfront can change what you decide to do with your case. Or if the local court wants fines paid immediately upon sentencing, setting your last hearing after a pay day can make a huge difference. You are paying for your attorney to not only know the law, but know how that particular court operates, how the prosecutor negotiates and how the jail and probation department handle defendants.

We always pull the public access information to see what charges we see online about you and your case but having any documentation can help us get the correct spelling, agencies involved, courts and potential other risks (forfeiture, restitution, orders of protection, victims rights)
