Michael A. Fischler is the senior partner of Fischler & Friedman, P.A. Mr. Fischler was born in New York and has been a resident of Broward County Florida since 1966. Mr. Fischler currently serves as President of the Broward County Bar Association. He graduated from Jacksonville University in 1975, where he double majored in Business and Psychology and minored in Accounting. Thereafter, Mr. Fischler attended both law school and business school at Nova Southeastern University where he graduated with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) and Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in 1978. Mr. Fischler began his career as an Assistant State Attorney in the Broward County State Attorney's Office. After three years, Mr. Fischler was promoted to be in ASA in charge of the Economic Crime, Consumer Fraud, and Civil Division. After leaving the State Attorney's Office in 1984, he entered into private practice as an associate with a mid-sized law firm, concentrating in the areas of commercial and civil litigation. In 1992, he joined his practice with Howard S. Friedman, Esq. and formed Fischler & Friedman, P.A. Mr. Fischler's business education, combined with his more than thirty-five years of legal experience, provides him with a unique insight that allows him to comprehensively evaluate business and personal situations faced by his clients. Mr. Fischler focuses primarily on business and commercial transaction litigation and has experience representing businesses and individuals in a variety of different types of claims including breach of contract, fraud, negligence, and breach of fiduciary duty. Geoffrey C. Curreri is the Managing Partner of Ferrer Law Group, PLLC. Mr. Curreri was born in New York and has resided in South Florida for over 40 years. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business, with an emphasis in Finance, from Florida Atlantic University. In 1995, Mr. Curreri obtained his Juris Doctorate from the St. Thomas University School of Law. Prior to joining the firm in late 2014, Mr. Curreri spent approximately 18 years in the insurance defense industry, representing some of the larger insurance carriers and the insureds. He was a frequent seminar presenter providing continuing education credits for the claims representatives on several topics. Mr. Curreri has written several articles on a variety of current event topics, to include his published work regarding the treatment of undocumented workers in their native countries within the March 2013 issue of Claims Journal, Southeast Edition as well as employer accommodations to an aging workforce within the July 2013 site for the Workersโ Compensation Institute (WCI). Prior to attending law school, Mr. Curreriโs professional background includes employment with an architectural/engineering firm, where he gained extensive knowledge and experience about the design and installation of medium to large multi-million dollar construction projects, including the development of and expansion stores in Dadeland Mall and Palm Beach Gardens Mall, assisting with the transition of the Burdines-Macyโs department store merger. The experience gained in the construction field, and interaction with general and sub-contractors place him in a unique position to handle claims relating to water damage, plumbing deficiencies, cast iron piping, roofing and failure to maintain issues. Mr. Curreri has handled a multitude of insurance defense claims to trial on a wide range of issues. These issues range from chemical exposure, repetitive trauma, causality and intervening events to name a few. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Curreri also practiced in the area of the Longshore Harbor Workersโ Compensation Act (LHWC) and its progeny. Mr. Curreri has donated his time to Habitat for Humanity, as he enjoys woodworking and home remodeling. He is also an avid recreational ice hockey player at several of the South Florida ice rink leagues.
