Testimonials

" Darya Druch helped me out of a jam. All my income was going toward the credit card "vigorish." For a modest fee, she led me through the process. She's honest, personable and thoroughly competent and I recommend her without reservation." B.H., Berkeley, CA, Journalist "My wife and I highly recommend attorney Darya Druch. Darya coached us through a challenging financial time and enabled us to leverage the law to our benefit. With so many options on the table, Darya kept us focused on what was most important – and then made sure we achieved our goals. Darya has effective relationships with the bankruptcy courts, US Trustee’s office, and her fellow bankruptcy attorneys. She is driven by a desire to win and really comes through when you need her most." R.W., Lafayette, CA, Marketing "Darya, what can I say but, THANK YOU! you brought to my attention the need and the necessary tools to reorganize and refocus on the proper priorities for a re-start. Darya provided proper counsel and precision execution for my needs in tough time and situation. Your professionalism along with a real care for your client will always be tops in any profession I have encounter in my business career." J.T., Hayward, CA, Professional Consultant "I had an excellent experience with Ms. Druch. She was consistently compassionate, professional, very knowledgeable, and always willing to assist me in a timely manner. I will gladly refer time and time again!" J.P., BBB Verified Reviewer "I highly recommend using Darya Druch if you are in need of a bankruptcy attorney. She handled a complicated case for me brilliantly. She not only succeeded but was also kind and attentive. I couldn't have asked for more... in a lawyer or a human." Lee, BBB Verified Reviewer "I hired Darya to file a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy on my behalf. Darya immediately began proceedings and consistently kept me informed and updated as the bankruptcy proceeded. My bankruptcy was complicated. Because of Darya's experience and knowledge, the bankruptcy was resolved to my satisfaction. I would not hesitate in recommending Ms. Druch to friends or family. I give her 5+ stars!" S.D., Reviewer on Yelp "Darya is a fabulous bankruptcy attorney. I was going through a very contentious divorce and faced with losing my house to my ex-wife's bankruptcy creditors. Because of the divorce, this was a very complicated case and Darya succeeded in negotiating a re-financing plan with the bankruptcy trustee to allow me to keep my house. She did this without racking up huge attorney fees. She is extremely professional, knowledgable, patient and did an excellent job in managing my expectations and work toward getting them met. I can honestly say that I could not have accomplished my goal (i.e., keeping the house) without Darya's expertise. I very highly recommend her." J.M., Reviewer on Yelp

Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

In two cases People who were about to lose their homes, filed Bankruptcy without an attorney and filed the wrong type of case. I was able to step in and save their homes. Another important case was for a small business owner who due to events beyond his control, was drowning in debt. I was able to reduce the debt of over $150,000 to less than $10,000 and allow him to keep the business. This kept several people employed and added a vibrant business to a neighborhood.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

In Bankruptcy it is very important to know the local lay of the land. Even though the law is "Federal" the application is "local". Knowing how certain Judges and Trustees view a particular matter is very important, to say nothing of having the personal relationship with various parties. Having personal credibility with the Judge is very important when you are asking for extra time to get things done etc. Hiring a lawyer form outside the district where you are filing a case is a dangerous proposition. Hiring a local attorney with many years of experience in the court you are operating is very important.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

In a free phone consultation I can get a general sense of the issues in the case and I can give a detailed list of additional information I would need to finalize my advice. I can usually reassure people that "all is not lost" and give them specific steps to take to move forward.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

It is important to know generally what type of Debts you have, immediate urgent matters (date of foreclosure sale for instance) and for taxes it is important to know the breakdown of exact years money is owed for and when the tax return was filed. Also helpful is to know what interest you are paying on a car loan and details about the mortgage.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

I have been doing this work for 30 years; through good times and bad. I also do a large variety of type of cases (7,11,12,13) so I have the ability to see a larger picture. Many consumer bankruptcy attorneys only do 7 and 13.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

I can actually help people in a very concrete way, save the house; pay off the taxes; get rid of some taxes; stay in business. Most people are very happy with what Bankruptcy can do for them.

Are you involved in your community?

I am on the Board of Directors of a cultural institution, a Poetry Magazine that his been around for 45 years. I recently have been working on a very exciting celebration event and fundraiser with amazing writers.Poetry Flash
