What Other Clients Have To Say
"Thank you so much for all your efforts. I truly appreciate it. This is a huge stress relief. I am glad you were able to resolve this in a way where I can now satisfy my obligation to the bank. I am in a strong equity position with this property so the bank has nothing to worry about. You all have been great! I am grateful for the help." -J. Jaatinen "I would like to offer my heartfelt THANKS and GRATITUDE to you and the entire staff for EVERYTHING!!! You all were the answer to many, many days and nights of unceasing prayer. I am eternally grateful to you all. After 5 years I can appropriately grieve the loss of my mother knowing that her wishes were finally fulfilled. Many thanks again and blessings to you and your families." -M.G.

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
One client in foreclosure was on disability social security and no other income making $1242/month. She had a $194K balance due on her loan with a $1049/month mortgage payment. We successfully defended the foreclosure and in October 2017 negotiated a loan modification which gave her a 40 year term at 2% interest for the life of the loan. The lender deferred $52K of the balance to a non-interest bearing account. The new monthly mortgage payment (including taxes and insurance) is $480.76 which she can easily make.
How did you build a successful practice?
Through referrals. As a former state senator, I amended foreclosure law about 14 times to benefit borrowers never thinking I would practice in this area. When two friends who were in foreclosure asked for my help in 2008, I found I knew everything about this area of the law. I defended their foreclosure lawsuits, helped them obtain much lower mortgage payments, and dismissed the lawsuit against them. These two friends referred 38 other clients, who then referred over 400 new clients. Our practice has grown since.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Clients should look for 3 key characteristics in a foreclosure defense lawyer. a. Does the lawyer know anything about lenders? In any adversarial situation, the better you know your opponent the better you can prepare and obtain a favorable outcome. A lawyer who knows banks, their regulations, and processes has a decided advantage in these cases. b. Can the attorney help you reach your goal? Ask the attorney whether s/he has significant experience helping others accomplish one of these goals. Most attorneys will seek to retain you as a client whether they can help you achieve your goal or not. The Law Offices of Daryl L. Jones, will take your case only if we believe we can help you achieve your goals. c. What is the attorney's track record? The Law Offices of Daryl L. Jones historically realizes client goals in more than 95% of our cases. With over 3,000 clients represented in the last 10 years, our clients have been evicted only 13 times.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
It is very important to know how each judge runs his or her courtroom, and to have a good professional relationship with opposing counsels that fosters mutually acceptable solutions. It is also very important for the Firm to have an excellent reputation with the judges and opposing counsels. This is achieved by seeking win/win solutions where available, and refusing to extend cases simply for the sake of buying more time. At the Law Offices of Daryl L. Jones, our average case is only 8 months from initial retainer to completion.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
We offer up to 1 hour for a free strategy session. Whether a prospective client decides to retain our Firm or not, that prospect will leave the initial strategy session with a blueprint of how to defend and obtain a successful outcome in their case.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
First, we need to understand the client's objectives. Then we will need to know the numbers, e.g., the mortgage payment, household income, and date of last payment.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
We are very proud of our record. We reach clients' goals more than 95% of the time. Having represented over 3,000 clients, and having only 13 evictions. We also are excellent real estate lawyers, helping clients purchase or refinance homes. We can frequently negotiate terms that allow most to successfully become homeowners.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
We help people who are in danger of losing their homes either remain in their homes, or find a new place to live with minimum inconvenience. This brings peace to households faced with crisis. We also help others become homeowners and show them how to build wealth through real estate. This brings prosperity and comfort to those beginning the journey to homeownership.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
Members of the Firm are involved in public speaking, mentoring, sports, and love to travel.
Are you involved in your community?
Our Firm is very active. Our lawyers hold memberships on the Orange Bowl Committee, the Junior League, Leadership Florida, Chair of Farm Share, Chair of Neighborhood Housing Services of South Florida., and many other organizations.
