About David

David A. Clinton was born in Inglewood, California, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1987.

Mr. Clinton attended UCLA on an athletic scholarship playing football under Coach Terry Donahue from 1982 to 1986. During that period of time Mr. Clinton played on three Rose Bowl Championship Teams ('83, '84 and '86), the 1985 Fiesta Bowl and the 1986 Freedom Bowl. In both 1985 and 1986 Mr. Clinton was a PAC-10 Academic All American Scholar Athlete.

In May, 1990 Mr. Clinton graduated from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California. In July of 1990, Mr. Clinton sat for the California State Bar Exam and passed on the first attempt, was licensed to practice law in the State of California and became an associate at Shield & Smith on December 5, 1990.

In October of 1995, Mr. Clinton started the law firm of Clinton & Clinton then located in Pasadena, California. In May of 1997 the office moved to Long Beach, California.

Mr. Clinton's practice has been involved with various areas of civil litigation with jury trial experience in the areas of products liability, all aspects of environmental litigation, medical malpractice, premises liability, employment related issues including wrongful termination and sexual harassment, large trucking accidents, wrongful arrest, vehicle accidents and fraudulent claims. Mr. Clinton has tried in excess of 55 jury trials and has had in excess of 250 arbitrations.

In 2001, Mr. Clinton was elected to the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates ("ABOTA"). In 2014, Mr. Clinton was elevated to the level of Advocate Member of ABOTA. He was also elected a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, one of the premier institutes for social science research on the law. Mr. Clinton is a member of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, Los Angeles County Bar Association, Orange County Bar Association, American Bar Association and Defense Research Institute. Mr. Clinton is a member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (FDCC), and serves as the Vice Chair of Trial Tactics, Practices & Procedures Section. Mr. Clinton is also a member of the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA), the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM), and the National Retail and Restaurant Defense Association (NRRDA).

Mr. Clinton is a licensed pilot holding a single engine rating, twin engine rating and instrument rating. He is also a Certified Scuba Diver. Mr. Clinton is married and has three children.
