About David
David M. Giles has more than twenty-five years of legal experience with over twenty years conducting large and complex real estate related litigation on behalf of financial institutions, mortgagees, and commercial landlords and tenants. He also has represented lenders in numerous complex loan transactions, real estate workout and default transactions, bankruptcy litigation, and lender liability suits. He has represented landlords in the enforcement of landlord's rights and remedies under leases including litigation regarding exclusivity clauses, continuous operations clauses, radius restrictions and assignment and subletting provisions. Mr. Giles also has extensive experience in pre-workout agreements, rent attachments, cash management and cash collateral agreements, and other matters relating to the enforcement of mortagee's rights.
Prior to joining Spector Gadon & Rosen as a Member, he was a member with Ominsky, Messa, Tanner, Giles & Sheridan and an attorney with Montgomery, McCracken, Walker & Rhoads, both in Philadelphia. At these firms, he conducted real estate litigation, drafted and negotiated commercial leases, agreements of sale, and loan documentation for borrowers and lenders, and conducted closings. Mr. Giles also concentrated in commercial and real estate litigation with Mesirov, Gelman, Jaffe, Cramer & Jamieson and practiced landlord/tenant and housing law with Community Legal Services, both in Philadelphia.
Mr. Giles began his career litigating on behalf of farmworkers for the Farmworkers Civil Liberties Project in Philadelphia and the National Association of Farmworkers Organizations in Washington, D.C., where he presented testimony at congressional and regulatory hearings.
Mr. Giles has been admitted to the bars of Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations. Graduating from the Howard University School of Law, Mr. Giles received an Am Jur Award in Criminal Law. He graduated cum laude from the State University of New York at Brockport. He also attended the National Institute for Trial Advocacy.
