About Deborah

Deborah Mayo is a shareholder with the firm's Miami office.  Ms. Mayo=s practice focuses on commercial transactions, business and corporate law where she routinely assists clients in structuring, negotiating and documenting domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, joint venture transactions and strategic alliances, private securities offerings, fund formation (real estate and private equity) including private offerings of the fund=s securities and negotiating, structuring and documenting investments by the fund across the U.S. and in Latin America, negotiating and drafting complex business contracts including shareholder, partnership and limited liability company agreements, employment and consulting agreements, severance agreements, and developing and implementing organizational restructurings in connection with work-outs and business tax planning.  Ms. Mayo also advises start-up and emerging growth companies regarding entity formation, business organization, financing (including angel, venture capital, private equity and bridge financing), contracting and other general corporate matters.  She has represented clients in a broad range of industries including commercial real estate funds and real estate investment firms, homebuilders, manufacturers, broadcasters, private colleges, biomedical technology, trucking companies, mining companies and dining and entertainment card companies.  As both a transactional attorney and a licensed certified public accountant with a master's degree in tax law, Ms. Mayo offers clients the benefit of over twenty years of combined experience between these two disciplines.

 

Ms. Mayo has a distinguished record of community service, including prior service on the Board of Governors of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, the Executive Committee of the Salvation Army of Dade County, the Board of Governors of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and President of its Dade County Chapter.  Deborah has a longstanding commitment to international trade and has led various international initiatives through the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce where she has served on the Executive Committee of the International Economic Development Group.  Deborah was born in Cuba and is fluent in Spanish.
