For more than forty years, Steve has zealously advocated for the rights of the injured against many of the largest and well-funded corporations in the United States and abroad, recovering hundreds of millions of dollars for his clients and class members. Steve primarily practices in the areas of class action litigation, multidistrict litigation, and other complex litigation brought on behalf of plaintiffs. As a testament to not only his legal acumen but also his ability to work cooperatively with others, he is routinely appointed by state and federal courts to positions of leadership in class actions and multi-district litigation. In addition to his extensive litigation practice, Steve is a frequent guest speaker and lecturer for Continuing Legal Education credit in the states of Louisiana and Mississippi, primarily on the subject of ethics and class action litigation. An avid sailor, Steve spends what little free time he has competing in regattas around the globe.

Kelley Dick joined Mansfield Melancon at its founding after practicing with one of Louisiana’s most respected law firms. He is dedicated to helping injury victims recover fair compensation with a personal, client-focused approach. Kelley graduated first in his class from Southern University Law Center in 2015, where he was Executive Editor of the Law Review and active in moot court. Since then, he has taught as an Adjunct Professor of Law and contributed to the Louisiana Law Institute. Recognized by his peers, Kelley has been named a Louisiana Super Lawyers Rising Star every year since 2018—an honor given to fewer than 2.5% of attorneys. He is also active in professional associations, serving on the Baton Rouge Bar Association’s board and participating in the Louisiana Association for Justice. Joseph Kopfler is a lawyer in Houma who focuses on Car Accident cases. He has tried cases involving insurance claims, premises liability, medical malpractice, nursing home abuse, oilfield and offshore injuries, truck accidents, social security disability, sexual assault, maritime injury, catastrophic injury, boat accidents, and more.

Eva has dedicated her legal practice to advocating for Louisiana’s most vulnerable residents. She graduated from Barnard College in 2016 and Tulane Law School in 2021. She began her career in legal aid as a staff attorney at Southeast Louisiana Legal Services where she represented survivors of intimate partner violence in civil cases in Baton Rouge and surrounding parishes. She then worked at Louisiana Fair Housing Action Center representing tenants facing eviction in Orleans Parish. She is excited to bring her passion for social justice and civil rights to Bizer & DeReus. In her free time she enjoys walking her dog Joni along Bayou St. John and cooking meals for her friends.

Andrew Bizer is the founding Partner at Bizer & DeReus and is admitted to practice law in Louisiana and New York. Andrew graduated from Brooklyn Law School in 2003 and Tulane University in 1997. He has been advocating for the rights of the disabled since 2010. He has successfully litigated hundreds of cases under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
