I followed my long time accountant here when she sold her practice to EJF. All was fine until she retired last year. New CPA would not let me speak to the young assistant who had actually worked on my taxes for the last 3-4 years. Slow to finish my taxes, very slow to bill (about 2 months) Charged $1500 I switched to a new firm who did a better faster job and charged $850. Glad I switched.

Didn’t get billed for preparation of 2023 tax returns until December 2024. Way over priced for the service, close to $700! They make you fill out a huge form, you drop it off and it takes months for them to complete the return. Filling out the form pretty much does a lot of the work for them. Non personalized service. Best to seek a different tax accountant.

How I wish they would allow reviewers to give "0" stars! Here's my story, sad but true. I moved here to Illinois last year (5/2023). I moved during the 2022 tax season. For the first time in my life. I didn't file a tax return for 2022. So I had 2 years of taxes to be paid. I knew I was going to have to pay. Tony Quagliano came highly recommended thru other business people we both know. I met with him and told him of my circumstances. He agreed to do my taxes. I paid $725 for his services. When it was all said and done, I owed the IRS over $3,000. After filing I received a notice in the mail from the IRS. Stating I still owed an additional $2,000. Tony had advised me this could happen. To let him know if I received such a a letter. I did, and I drove to his office and handed him the letter personally. He said they would write a letter to the IRS on my behalf. I never saw the letter or received a copy of that letter. Three weeks later I received yet another notice from the IRS. Informing me I owed even more because I didn't pay the additional taxes, plus a penalty! To this day I don't know if that letter was written? I never received a copy of it. I called Tony twice to ask him what was going on? I called on Monday, 6/3/24 @9:44am, I was told he was not available and left him a voicemail asking him to call me back. He never responded! I called again on Thursday, 6/6/24 @9:39am. I was again advised he was not available and would I like to leave another voicemail. I did! To date (6/17/24) I have yet to receive a response? In fact I have NOT received a call or anything from him or the firm he works (for or with). I believe I was and I am entitled to such a call. Apparently Tony or this firm doesn't believe I am. I guess I'm not worth a courtesy call. Too pay $725 and not get a call back is rude and disrespectful, in my opinion. I cannot in good conscience recommend Tony or this firm. Maybe your luck will be different? Good Luck, you may need it! Update 1/16/25.... Due to the fact that this company offered me no help or assistance in this matter. I was forced to take matters in my own hands. And I'm glad that I did. I ended up receiving 2 refunds. One was over $500 the other over $2000.00.

I had to find a new accountant and the one I found was awesome but she joined this firm and they nickel and dime you for everything and charge you for reading and sending emails on top of charging a higher than standard price which was never disclosed for simple services. They asked to sign a retainer agreement and never disclosed any costs such as sending emails to ask questions.I found another accountant who is fantastic and does NOT charge for emails, calls or texts. I would not recommend them as they are threatening to send me to a collection agency.
