Lawrence J. Zimmerman
Reviews
I have known Mr Zimmerman since I was a teenager, he represented me as I was growing up and making mistakes. He treated me and my family as his own. It has been almost 15 years ago, but he is still happy to take my calls and asks about my family, very compassionate and caring. I am very grateful for him, and he is one that can be trusted !!!!
There aren't superlatives to describe the work Lawrence puts in for his clients. His phone and email never shuts off (and he lets you know that) and his clients are never a bother. From your first conversation with him you will see he's a very shrewd proactive attorney (aggressive but smart and strategic at the same time) who has the gift of making every client feel like the center of his world. Very happy he came to my aide at easily the worst point in my life...and thrilled with the results (case was dropped with no charges)nnHe also works closely with a private investigator JT Summers, who comes to the table with a very impressive law enforcement resume.
I hired Lawrence Zimmerman based on a referral from a friend who had used him and said he was the real deal. He was very informative on all subject matter of my charges (DUI) and all aspects of court procedures. He was always prepared, on time and a positive person throughout the whole ordeal. He always stayed positive through all of the motions and hearings letting me know we have a good chance of at least lowering the charges. We went to a bench trial where he was able to work his many years of criminal defending to acquit me on the major offense of DUI. I remember when he was presenting his final statement, he told the Judge that the arresting officer never mentioned the "venue" of where this arrest took place. I had no idea what that meant but that is why I had hired Lawrence. He leaned to me, when they were going to the tape recorder to see if he had / hadn't mentioned the "venue", to tell me "....this is like kicking a field goal in overtime!!" They threw out the charges without question based on Lawrence paying attention to every detail. He always made me feel comfortable with what was going on by explaining in layman's terms to what was happening and why. He presented to the DA and Judge all of the evidence which was a huge part of my acquittal.nnI have referred many people that said they need a great criminal defense attorney or needs advice. He is a person that you would call your, "Go to guy!" for any matter with the law. I also consider Lawrence a friend of mine!nnAgain, if I was ever in need of a lawyer, Lawrence would no doubt be my "Go to guy!".
I want to offer a rebuttal to the two "reviewers"- who impugned Mr. Zimmerman. I had about as bad an experience as a person could have, over what I felt like was nothing. Mr. Zimmerman got the best outcome a person could have gotten for me, under the circumstances. Did I like the outcome ? No, but I did not like the situation I was in either. Neither problem was Lawrence's. If a person is in business, they are concerned with money- I had never been in any trouble before and it caused me to fall apart. Did Lawrence get his retainer ? Yes. Did he answer my emails and try to reassure me ? Yes. Did he care enough to tell me to get some rest and quit sending him emails at 2am because I could not sleep ? He did. As for the other person who left a negative review, close to 4 years after I was initially charged and 3 years after the BS was over, Lawrence helped me retrieve a piece of property from the agency that had it. I figure Lawrence thought I had some problem with him over that, but he didn't have that piece of property and he made the phone call that allowed me to get it back. You have a choice in life when you come into contact with LE and DA's- you can either work with a public defender who definitely does not care and doesn't require payment(except the payment of landing your behind in a sling) or you can hire an attorney. Lawrence does not control your choice's in taking a deal, the kind of deal offered. I will say this, he does negotiate like a vendor in a bazaar in Calcutta who's carrying a scimitar- compellingly. He doesn't control what you're charged with- that's the work of LE, Grand Jury's, and DA's. He gets the best result he can with the hand that has been dealt. I honestly believe that. And he has never worked as a prosecutor, so that should tell you something as well. Say hello sometime, old chap.
I highly recommend Lawrence, he is an exceptionally detailed, persistent, and caring lawyer. Our family put our trust in him and ultimately all accusations were dismissed!
