My husband has a chronic, terminal illness so it was of extreme importance that I turned to a lawyer to professionally and proactively oversee his disability case. I put a substantial amount of confidence in Lisa Smith-Siegel’s drive and determination. I was especially drawn to her confidence in my husbands case and that she effectively communicated. At the beginning of 2020 (pre-pandemic shutdown), I observed longer email response times and what seemed to be a change in her tone. I dismissed it as her being overwhelmed or the possibility of her own personal circumstances leaving her drained. During an in person appointment that she recommended to help us understand what happens during a hearing, I became worried. She seemed lost when we arrived. After scrambling, she had my husband resign forms he had already signed and never addressed the original purpose of the meeting. The pandemic began and she never seemed to gather herself together. I was left to call and email multiple times in attempt to reschedule phone appointments with me that she scheduled and missed. During the phone hearing with the judge, she sounded preoccupied leaving the judge to call her name multiple times and even stating that she may have been disconnected from the call due to her lack of response when addressed. Her contribution to the call was to indicate that she did not have all of the necessary records “due to the pandemic” that were requested in February 2020 (prior to the shutdown). She never communicated to me that she was not prepared due to missing records. It was only then that I realized that my husbands case had been lost in the cracks and for her, he was just a number. Afterwards, I expressed my desire for her communication as I had easy accessibility to the information she needed. I then provided her with all of my husbands records with a gut feeling that they wouldn’t be submitted. I’m not angry and have no ill intentions towards her or her business. It’s also more than financial. I learned a life lesson. Hopefully she’ll also accept this review as a learning experience to help her and allow her to continually develop towards her desired level of success. As for us, the lack of preparation and lack of communication has had a direct effect on my family that has resulted in turning a challenge into an arduous situation. The records in full were not submitted and can no longer be provided. We are now in the position that we are forced to ignore the years we put into this case and start the process over again. In my opinion, the loss of trust in Lisa Smith-Siegel is actually worst than the lost case.

I wouldn’t recommend her to anyone. Maybe it’s a favoritism thing but when speaking with her she acted as though if she didn’t believe anything that was coming out my mouth. Also when speaking with her she addressed me in such a cynical tone of voice like I was dumb or didn’t know what I was talking about. When I told her how many hours I worked before her exact words was “ I can’t believe someone work for such little hours and only make that amount”.. yes I got some information mixed up and I did get frustrated from having someone talk down on me but I knew for a fact of how much $$ I made. When you have a child to take care of sick or not you have to do what you have to do. In the end I was only asking for information and not to have her represent me. I’m glad that I heard her true self before I did consider her services. I can tell from our conversations that she doesn’t respect people who went through Covid and are still being affected by the long term effects from it. God bless her
