I went to this law office to ask for an initial consultation with the civil litigation lawyer there with the intent to ask for an appointment so that I could meet and interview him to see if I liked him enough to hire him to handle my complicated and most likely long-term legal matter. The receptionist informed me that he was not in the office just then, but that she would send me an email outlining his fees. Right away upon receiving the email and even before I got to meet him, I was asked for a $1500 retainer with explanations as to the various ways that money could be paid. The email further stated that any monies not used would be returned to me. I phoned the office to ask for an initial consultation and that I would pay for it, but that I was not willing to hand over a retainer just yet until I was sure that we, as client and lawyer, were going to be a good fit and that I could trust him to handle my legal matter diligently. I was told that they don't do it that way, but that the receptionist would check with the paralegal about it. As yet I have not received a reply from this law firm. It seems to me, based on my above described experience, that this law firm is not about the "people" or serving the "people" as it states on their website, but it is more about the money. I have had a lot of experience with lawyers in the past who I hired without first meeting them who immediately wanted a retainer, then did nothing, but still took money from that retainer and I don't wish to hire another one like that again. The bottom line is that I don't feel like I am missing much by not hiring this law firm.

Took advantage of the free consultation offered to discuss my situation. Dave was very knowledgeable, professional and even offered self help information if I wanted to tackle the situation myself.
