Spiotti & Associates, P.C. were very nice to work with. They helped my business property with a property tax reduction and they made the process very simple. I recommend Spiotti & Associates for your property tax assessment!
I worked with them with a property tax appeal—It was not successful, which is not why I am leaving this review. I had to follow up with them multiple times to even be told that the appeal was rejected. If I had not called I would never have heard from them. Until I heard from them again — asking for more money for another appeal. I don’t know why I said yes— but I did. And then I never heard back from them again.
Terrible and unethical. Strung me along for over a year about a commercial tax appeal, asked for more money to appeal for a two year period, then disappeared off the face of the earth. Have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, also naming Equity Real Estate Valuation which this firm works with in the scam. Also submitted an attorney ethics grievance form against Joe Bock. Follow up: it’s now 2024, and although the firm cares enough for its PR to make a weak response to my google review, I myself have not heard from them again at all. I consider it money lost and a lesson learned, also hope that by sharing my experiences with others I might save them the same trouble.
Totally worth it. I got a letter in the mail from Spiotti and Associates saying the could lower my taxes. I was initially hesitant but did some investigating, talked to people that had done this before, read their reviews and finally called them. The process takes several months but at end they won on my behave. My taxes were lowered by around 3800 dollars per the County Judgement. The lawyers fees are 50% of whatever they get back, so I had to come up to the 1700s to pay them but still didn't see any benefits yet. So I was upset and disappointed at the beginning (I even thought this might have been a scam but I actually paid after I confirmed that all was real). I had to do my due diligence to make the bank execute on the tax reduction judgement. I had to call the bank and the county tax collector several times and even send the county board judgement about the tax reduction and a letter from myself requesting a revision of my taxes to the escrow department at the bank. Finally, about 4 months after the judgement, my mortgage payment came down 487 dollars and I just got a check from the bank for 1820 for a surplus in escrow. It's only the first month; I'm eager to see if the next month's payment will be the same (I still can't believe it), if it is, this will be a massive save over time. I totally recommend doing this.
As many others have said, they send you a boilerplate letter with your address, property, and how much money they can save you (in my case it was $1002 in property taxes). You pay them their fee of $30-40 and they probably hope you just forget about it. Six months later, I was reminded of it when I happen to find the letter in my desk. I called them and they just said "Oh yeah we were unable to get anything. We will try to appeal and let you know." Three weeks later they still haven't called back and probably never planned on calling back. These people are a scam. Please stay away, save your money and don't fall for their letter.
