My daughter had a hemangioma on her eyelid. When she was 2 it still was not going away after propranolol and we decided we wanted to operate. We flew to NYC and interviewed the top hemangioma specialists. From the minute we met Dr. Levitin we knew he was the right choice. He was warm and understanding. He validated our concerns and spent time going through the procedure and all of our questions. The day of the surgery he was communicative and continued to keep us as ease. After the operation he was and continues to be extremely attentive. Our daughter’s eyelid looks phenomenal. We are so happy we trusted our gut after all of our research and interviews and chose to go with Dr. Levitin. We highly recommend him and are forever grateful for his expertise.

It is a great experience being treated by Dr Gregory Levitin. The surgery was difficult but Dr Levitin along with Dr Michael Berger did an amazing job. What I like the most about Dr Levitin is that he is extremely caring. After the surgery he continued to follow up with me on a daily basis to check up my conditions and to make sure I was in the right track of recovery, and scheduled in office visits not only to visually examine the surgery site but also gave warm encouragements to relieve any worry or stress I had. I am very grateful for his work and kindness.

My daughter was born with a hemangioma on her scalp which rapidly grew. We live in Missouri and saw many doctors in the St. Louis area who were not willing to remove the hemangioma. One even told us they “wouldn’t touch that with a 10 foot pole.” But thankfully, we found an absolutely amazing physician who specializes in these surgeries, Dr. Levitin. The only drawback? He’s in New York City. We wish we didn’t have to travel to Mount Sinai Hospital for this. (Dr. Levitin also made the same comment at our appointment.) We know that our daughter is absolutely perfect and beautiful just the way she is. But people (adults and children) already make many comments about her “bump” so if there is something we can do to lessen those comments and the hurt she may feel as she gets older because of it, that’s what we will do. We are so thankful we found Dr. Levitin! I emailed with him for months and he answered every single question I had! He so friendly, kind, caring compassionate and professional. I of course was a nervous wreck as a mama who’s daughter was going into surgery but I had so much trust and faith in Dr. Levitin. Everything went smoothly and we were back in Missouri recovering the following day!

We are over the moon with our experience with Dr.Levitin and his staff. Our daughter, Isabella developed a hemangioma on her nasolabial fold/cheek which was sticking out and propranolol + laser did not work much for her. At 14 months she was aware that she had a bulge on her face, she’s grab it and squeeze it. We felt lost until a mom from the vascular birthmark foundation on Facebook shared her experience with Dr.Levitin and how it changed her little one’s life for the best. I contacted his office and was surprised because he answer promptly. From then, we exchanged emails and spoke over the phone. His office/ hospital staff took over and everything went smoothly. From forms that needed to be submitted, Covid test to the pharmacy where we’d pickup her antibiotic. Dr.Levitin explained his plan of action and what to expect after surgery. We had realistic expectations as the hemangioma had grown even more in a span of almost two weeks. I am so thankful to Dr.Levitin and his staff for taking good care of my baby. As of today, it’s one week since she was operated and we are so happy with the results. I can’t wait to see her results in 1 or 2 years. We’re so glad he was able to help us!

We cannot thank Dr. Levitin enough for being amazing at what he does. Our daughter developed a hemangioma around 5 weeks old on her philtrum and rapidly grew over the course of a year. We tried oral and topical medications from dermatologists, but nothing helped. We were told about The Vascular Birthmark Center and Dr. Levitin from a friend, and from there our daughter was able to be seen within a few weeks for a consultation. The staff at Dr Levitin’s office are all so sweet and made the appointment setup process smooth. The office is also very clean. After discussing options with Dr. Levitin, we felt surgically removing the hemangioma was the best way to go. From the moment we arrived at Mount Sinai for surgery, he was informative of what all would take place and kept us updated during surgery. He has such a calm demeanor, which helped us as parents feel at ease during this whole process. I cannot thank him enough for forever changing our daughters life. There is absolutely NO scar, incredible! He will forever be apart of her life story, and we are forever grateful for him! If you are in need of a birthmark doctor and have the means to travel to NYC, we cannot recommend Dr. Levitin enough!!!
