Questions & Answers
Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
I feel strongly and hopefully accurately that I have made a big difference in virtually every case in which I have been involved over the past several years. Since virtually all of my cases involve some form of wrongful termination or retaliatory termination/ wrongful demotion or retaliatory demotion/ wrongful suspension or retaliatory suspension/ or wrongful denial of a promotion/ or some form of wrongful discipline, it is hard to distinguish one case from another. However, most of my clients appear to be very happy with the fact that I understand their plight or difficulty regarding their employment/labor situation. I try in every case to step right into their shoes, so to speak, and I feel their anxiety, stress, and depression as much as possible although never to their extent since that is not possible since I am not them and they are not me. However, it motivates or inspires me to do my very best for each such client. I shoot for the "moon" in seeking compensation or a re-write of history to enable my clients to get back on their feet and regain their place in society or even to grow from the experience. I always listen to what they have to say to me and I try to use their complaints to their best advantage. I do not let the defense try to decimate my clients. I always strive to outwork the defense. The clock is not my enemy. I work as long and as hard as humanly possible to obtain the very best result for my clients as possible.
How did you build a successful practice?
I attribute whatever success I have enjoyed by fighting as hard as possible, including working consecutive back to back to back all-night sessions, and weekends if necessary. I recall putting in 70 to 80 hour work weeks. I never let fatigue slow me down or cause me to lose a case. I have always had great support from my wife and my daughter. I always tried to return every phone call, and respond to every email and text, ASAP. I tried to answer every client's questions including every detail as to the process, so that my clients knew what to expect and how to handle the process.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Clients need a lawyer who is able to give great attention to every detail, who is organized beyond description, who is willing to devote whatever amount of time or effort is necessary to have a chance to win or prevail, and who is not afraid of whatever amount of work or expense is required to win the case.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
It is crucial to know the particular judges, arbitrators, mediators, and opposing counsel involved as to their respective idiosyncrasies, strengths and weaknesses, and their attitudes toward attorneys and the type of case involved, and the preparation devoted to the case, and any favoritism toward the other side, etc.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
I am able to explain to my clients the process of litigation and I am able to generally predict fairly well how a particular fact pattern might play out in a full blown litigation regardless of who the defense attorney might be and regardless who the judge, arbitrator, and mediator might be, based on assumptions that I might make as to the plaintiff's case and the defendants' case.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
I need to know whether or not there are any independent witnesses and/or smoking gun documents to corroborate the client's case or version of the facts. I also need to know whether or not the client is committed to his or her case vis a vis staying in the litigation no matter how difficult or how long it may take.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
I never give up no matter what. I always give my clients the benefit of the doubt. I always fight as hard as possible to obtain a victory for my clients. I do not let the cost of a case deter me. I have the financial resources to see a case to the finish line.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Obtaining a victory for my clients is easily perhaps the most rewarding aspect of my job. Equally rewarding is earning the respect of my clients and my adversaries.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
Making my family happy as much as possible.
Are you involved in your community?
I always take interest in what is occurring in my community and I help my community to whatever extent that I am able to help it.
