Margaret Washburn has a general trial practice that focuses primarily on complex and high asset domestic relations litigation, including divorce, modification of custody and child support and contempt actions. We also handle criminal defense, personal injury and auto accidents and civil trial litigation, as well as represent injured workers. We have developed our practice and client base through Margaret's reputation in the community and through involvement in the State Bar of Georgia committees, the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, the Lawrenceville Kiwanis Club, and other civic organizations. Margaret is the editor of the Gwinnett County Bar Association Newsletter, and the newsletter for the Council for Municipal Court Judges. Mr. Hill is first and foremost a trial attorney that limits his practice to divorce and other domestic relations cases. While Mr. Hill plans a strategy for each case individually, his basic approach is to prepare for war and use the power that provides to settle the case wherever possible. If settlement becomes impossible, Mr. Hill has ample experience in both bench trials and jury trials. He also has experience in appealing divorce cases to the Supreme Court. Mr. Hill brings a strong background in business, accounting and cost analysis (both educational and practical experience) to the practice of domestic relations law. His business skills combine effectively to allow him to achieve excellent results in cases involving high asset and complex marital estates especially those that include on-going businesses. Mr. Hill has published papers in technical trial techniques and areas of applicability to the family law practitioner. He is a Guardian Ad Litem for the Superior Court of Cobb County and he is a Registered Neutral with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution. Mr. Hill is a member of the State Bar of Georgia; the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia; the Cobb County Bar Association; the Family Law Section of the Cobb County Bar Association; and Phi Delta Phi. Mr. Hill is also a member of First United Methodist Church of Marietta, the Marietta Kiwanis, and the Kennesaw Business Association.

Attorney Chalcia Rainford is a native of Jamaica, West Indies, who has practiced law since 1994. Mrs. Rainford earned her J.D. from John Marshall Law School of Atlanta, Georgia. She also studied in London, England at the Lay Cox College and is a professional registered nurse. Her success does not stop there; Attorney Rainford owns Eccentral, Inc., which is a professional nursing employment agency. She is known for being very intellectual and detail oriented.

As a partner in one of the largest law firms in North Georgia, Rustin defended insurance companies and large businesses before co-founding Smith Hulsey. He has handled cases in both federal and state courts, appearing in U.S. District Courts and counties throughout Georgia. He has argued before the Supreme Court of Georgia, and litigated appeals in the Georgia Court of Appeals and U.S. Court of Appeals, 11th Circuit. Rustin graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia before attending Emory University School of Law, where he was selected for the Dean’s List, received the Dean’s Award, and was recommended for the Kesler-Eidson Trial Techniques Scholarship. Rustin has served on multiple Hall County nonprofit boards, was elected Gainesville Jaycee of the Year in 2011, and was a member of the 2015 State Bar Young Lawyer’s Leadership Academy.
