Michael P. McCready received his undergraduate degree magna cum laude from the University of Richmond in three years and continued at the University of Richmond obtaining his law degree in 1992. Following graduation, he served as a law clerk for a federal judge in Virginia. He came to Chicago the next year and began working at a law firm handling personal injury cases. In law school, David commenced his legal experience as a law clerk in the elite Homicide Task Force of the Cook County Public Defender’s Office, where he learned trial skills from Assistant Public Defender Marijane Placek, an attorney whose legendary exploits in Chicago criminal courtrooms had been made into two books.
