About James
James H. Krumsiek has practiced law in Massachusetts for 20 years. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of the Holy Cross and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Notre Dame Law School. He was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1989 and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts in 1990.
From 1989-1995 Mr. Krumsiek was associated with law firms in Springfield and Andover, Massachusetts, working primarily in the areas of leasing, residential and commercial real estate lending, litigation, foreclosure and bankruptcy. In 1995 he joined Riemer & Braunstein, LLP, of Boston, where he became partner, and concentrated his practice in the representation of financial institutions in large commercial loan transactions, including real estate acquisitions and refinances, asset based loan arrangements and associated workouts and foreclosure.
Mr. Krumsiek left Riemer & Braunstein in 2000 to become in-house counsel to Capital Crossing Bank of Boston, a $1 billion publicly traded trust company. While at Capital Crossing he conducted legal analysis and due diligence with respect to the Bank's acquisition of multi-million dollar commercial loan portfolios, which included real estate and asset based credits initiated by financial institutions across the United States. He also supervised outside counsel and provided advice to the Bank's asset managers with regard to litigation, foreclosure and related collection activities. In that capacity, he worked closely with its special assets group and loan officers to maximize recovery for the Bank. He also documented various loans, restructurings, forbearances and bankruptcy matters in his in-house capacity.
Since returning to private practice in 2007, Mr. Krumsiek's practice focuses on all aspects of commercial and residential transactions, including acquisitions, refinances, and restructuring of debt secured by real and/or personal property. In addition, he has represented clients in commercial leasing, workouts, foreclosures, loan acquisitions, corporate matters and entity formation. He counsels a wide array of clients, including several private real estate investors and private lenders, local and national financial institutions as well as national retail chains.
Mr. Krumsiek is a member of the Metrowest Chamber of Commerce and the Neponset Valley Chamber of Commerce. He is al a real estate title insurance agent for Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company and First American Title Insurance Company.
Since 1993, Mr. Krumsiek and his wife, Mary, have been residents of Sudbury, Massachusetts where they are raising their five children.
