Jim is the youngest son of a large Polish family originally from Chicago. He has lived in various parts of the United States including Chicago, Iowa, Florida and Kentucky. As a high school student he was a two-time state debate champion who went on to debate in college on scholarship. In law school he was a two-time moot court national champion. Prior to going into law he had worked in a variety of jobs such as landscaping and golf course maintenance, in construction as a mason's assistant and with his family in a retail produce company. As an attorney he has diverse experience as a trial lawyer. He began as a public defender and handled a large caseload of serious and challenging criminal cases. He learned civil practice first as an insurance defense personal injury lawyer where he gained invaluable experience which taught him how the insurance company acts to defend your case. He also later worked with a reputable and high profile personal injury firm handling everything from minor injury cases to major medical malpractice and class action lawsuits.
