About Joshua

Josh has been protecting the rights of injured Colorado citizens since he graduated from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Even before graduation, Josh was dedicated to standing up for injured victims. In his youth his family was devastated by a motor vehicle crash and injury. This experience instilled in him a desire to help victims of serious accidents and insurance companies focused on the bottom line. Josh played football in college and was selected as an Academic All-American in Football before multiple injuries and major surgery forced him to retire from the sport. Upon graduation at Western State College of Colorado Cum Laude, Josh began work in the field as a Project Manager. These personal experiences in the field and with injury have helped him understand the complex processes involved in these claims, as well as nurtured a strong understanding of the way injuries can devastate a person’s life. In law school, Josh participated actively in the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association and gained valuable experience with internships at The Sawaya Law Firm, The Law Office of Clifford J. Enten, and The Law Office of Cathleen McEwen. Upon graduation, Josh began litigating injury claims for The Sawaya Law Firm and several years later began his own practice at Reilly Manning, LLC, and now The Reilly Law Firm. Josh is a member of The National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40, Colorado Bar Association, Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, and Denver Bar Association. Feel free to ask him about growing up in Alaska, his experiences with homeschool, bear guiding in Alaska, college football, or even his first trial experiences, which highlight his dedication, proficiency, and personality.

Please describe a case(s) in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
A very kind and soft spoken elderly gentleman sought our legal advice on the day his case’s statute of limitations was to expire (the day he would lose all legal remedies), and he let us know that he was bumped by an employee of a grocery store with a stocking cart causing him neck injury. He had sought the advice and representation of five prior attorney’s, who had all dropped his case, after the grocery store denied his story. Reilly Law picked this case up and through litigation and discovery found video surveillance that showed the store’s employee did not just bump him, but ran him over with great force, knocking him into the magazine isle, and further evidence showed that it was with a 2,000 lbs. capacity stocking cart stacked above the employees head (blocking his vision). We found the evidence, the video, and were able to negotiate a settlement for him for $300,000.00. This after being dropped by five other firms, and the Defendant denying any and all wrong doing. We felt good about our added value and about helping our client (who was too kind and soft spoken to fully explain the egregiousness of the Defendant’s conduct).

How did you build a successful practice?
Reilly Law is a successful client advocate by taking and representing client’s that have big claims, small claims, and difficult claims that have been dropped by other attorney’s for a plethora of reasons. We are successful because we will take the tough cases, and we will fight for them every step of the way.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Find an attorney you trust, and that will be your attorney throughout your case from prelitigation, to litigation, and trial. Ask your attorney tough questions and what sets them apart from the rest – Reilly Law will be able to tell you specifically about your case and what we can add to your claim’s value, your peace of mind, and we will tell you to talk to other attorney’s because each will have a different perspective on your case. Seek out the best attorney for you, someone you trust and if it isn’t Reilly Law, then ask us who we would recommend next.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
Personal Injury Law is governed by Colorado Law, and having an attorney locally shows the insurance company that the attorney is not only versed in the law, but meeting with the client and more intimately involved then an attorney located elsewhere.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
A free consultation with Reilly Law can provide an injured party with assurances regarding their claim that allow them to breath easy, and focus on their health. We will focus on records, insurance companies, and the law why you take care of your family and health.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
We can work with the most basic fact patterns and broad information regarding dates, circumstances of the injury, liability, and insurance to give you direction and feedback. If more detailed information is needed (eventually it always is) then as your attorney we will track down those documents, records, and witnesses to help establish and prove your claim. The best practice is always to provide your medical records, insurance policies, and the circumstances and information surrounding the cause of your injury during the free consultation, however, it is not necessary for us to help you.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
Here we care about people, not about claims, and you can contact your attorney (me), Joshua P. Reilly, after hours and on the weekends if you are stressed about the process, your claim, or any questions that are keeping you up at night. This is the most valuable service we can provide – peace of mind on a steady basis.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Fighting for clients that have been dropped by prior attorneys because other law firms will not do the work that we do.

What are your other interests in addition to law?
Our interests vary outside of the office but center on family and friends. This is in keeping up with our goals of putting people first, and everything else second.

Are you involved in your community?
Yes, at Reilly Law we participate in probono work with Traumatic Brain Injury Alive, and other groups that provide help and support for victims of serious injuries in and around Colorado, specifically with head and spinal injuries.
