Keith J. Miller, one of the founding partners of the Newark law firm of Robinson, Wettre & Miller LLC,  is an experienced commercial litigation attorney who has represented the Firm's corporate, non-profit and individual clients in New Jersey's Federal and State Courts for well over a dozen years.  Keith regularly handles jury and bench trials, complex motions, arbitrations, and mediations.  He has briefed and argued numerous appeals in the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of New Jersey.  Keith has successfully resolved many complex business disputes.  His wide-ranging practice includes counseling and defending management in employment law and labor law disputes, negotiating collective bargaining agreements on behalf of management, defending negligence actions, representing secured creditors in bankruptcy and foreclosure proceedings, resolving commercial real estate disputes, conducting corporate investigations, and handling intellectual property litigation.   

Keith specializes in representing the Firm's media clients, which include many large newspapers, magazines, commercial websites, wire services, and publishing companies.  Keith frequently handles libel and slander lawsuits, Open Public Records Act cases, First Amendment disputes, and reporter's subpoenas.  He successfully litigated and argued a landmark case in the Supreme Court of New Jersey expanding the scope of the State's public access laws (The Times of Trenton Publishing Corp. v. Lafayette Yard Community Development Corp., 183 N.J. 519 (2005)).  Keith has made successful applications throughout New Jersey to have Court proceedings and records opened to the public.

Keith received his B.A. in Economics from Fairfield University in 1988.  After working for a large Wall Street brokerage firm for several years, he attended Rutgers Law School in Newark , where he served as Managing Editor of the Rutgers Law Review.  Upon his admission to the Bar in 1993, Keith started working for the Firm that became Robison & Livelli and then became Robinson, Wettre & Miller, where he is a name partner.  Keith is a member in good standing of the Bars of the State of New Jersey, the Supreme Court of the United States, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Second, Third and Eleventh Circuits, and the United States District Courts for the District of New Jersey and the Southern District of New York.

Keith is active in New Jersey 's legal community.  He was recently selected by Chief Justice James Zazalli (Retired) to be an innaugaral member of the Supreme Court Bench-Bar-Media Committee.  Keith is a Trustee of the Historical Society of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.  He serves on the Media Law Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association, and is an active member of the Association of the Federal Bar and the New Jersey Media Lawyers' Association.  Keith is a member of the Rutgers Law School Alumni Association, and volunteers to judge Rutgers' Nathan Baker Mock Trial Competition and Rutgers' David Cohn Appellate Moot Court Competition.  Keith frequently volunteers as a speaker and panelist regarding legal issues, and has been selected as a seminar speaker for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education (ICLE).  Keith is a life-long resident of Essex County, New Jersey, where he works and lives with his wife and three sons, and where he is involved with numerous civic and charitable organizations.
