About Keya

Keya is passionate about helping and pursuing justice for all whose legal rights often have been inadequately pursued. As demonstrated by her role as an Observer Coach Trainer (OC/T) in the U.S. Army Reserve—in which role she helps ensure soldiers' and staff members' readiness for deployment—Keya's commitment to justice and selflessness goes beyond her legal work.

Keya earned her J.D. from the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law, where she earned the Mason Civil Rights Scholar Award. As a student attorney, she helped win a state action suit against the District of Columbia Public Schools for wrongfully suspending students with individual education plans.

Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

Each case I accept, I make a difference in the lives of the clients. I am present and available for their questions. I guide them through the process and i am always a text, call or email away.

How did you build a successful practice?

I walked out on faith...I always wanted to be a lawyer. I didn’t want to work at a big firm because I want to be proximate with my clients. Not just charge a bunch of money and forget about them.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Look to see if your lawyer is too busy for you. That will tell you all that you need to know.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Knowledge in the field of practice is very important to get things done. If I don’t know, I will find out.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

I listen to the issue and convey to the prospective client whether I can help or whether I would defer them to look elsewhere in my free consultations. In a paid consultation, I will give advice on your matter and let you know what steps you can take.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

I need to know about your legal issue and what led you to your current circumstance. Have your case number handy!

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

I try to meet my clients where they are both emotionally and financially. Your not just a case number to me. Your a human being with an aspect of your life that needs fixing.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

Getting to help people is most rewarding!

What are your other interests in addition to law?

Outside of the practice, I participate in mixed martial arts and Tennis. I also play the piano and saxophone. Very soothing after a long hard day!

Are you involved in your community?

I am from Baltimore MD. I am still feeling my way around St. Louis but I am always here to be involved in community activities.
